Georgia laid the worst beatdown in the history of the college football national championship game and, by most accounts, the worst beatdown in the history of championship games in any sport.

As horrible as this was, it was within reach on the scoreboard late into the second half if LSU had decided to switch up their approach on offense. Les decided to run his dumb head into a brick wall some more though. They had our offense completely stifled and we just kept trying the same shite. There was no urgency.

I'll never forgive him for not at least trying to throw the kitchen sink out there. Trick plays, different QB, wildcat, whatever. Just needed one momentum play on offense.

Saban saw Hurts struggling against Georgia and put Tua in, for example.

The UGA/TCU game was over in the 1st quarter. It looked like a high school team playing UGA. That was an absurdly bad performance from them and an equally unreal performance from UGA. I bet on UGA going into that and still probably the most I've wagered on a single football game. Second being on Alabama v. Notre Dame. That had ugly written all over it before as well.

It's among the saddest but I thought it was somewhat predictable. I just couldn't have predicted 65-7.

2012 BCSCG 21-0 (Alabama over LSU) is up there but theoretically LSU still had a shot to make it a game in the 4th quarter. But by halftime you just knew that Alabama had every lesson learned from how LSU stole that game in Tuscaloosa. They stopped trying to protect AJ McCarron on offense and passed more on 1st down. They stopped trying to flip the backers to the strength of the LSU formation which caused some communication problems on the option plays with Jefferson that really allowed LSU to squeeze out that win in the regular season. LSU was completely made inert on offense.

The December 2019 Peach Bowl (LSU over OU) was similarly pretty sad. We all knew that OU wasn't going to stop LSU but we didn't know that LSU's mediocre defense was going to shutdown OU. It wasn't as close as the score suggests. LSU could have scored 100 but just tried to get the game over in the second half.

1996 Fiesta Bowl (Nebraska over Florida). Holy shite this was ugly. I remember watching this with my parents as a kid and being flabbergasted how Florida near their zenith of running the SEC in the 1990s get dismantled like a low classification HS playing a top classification HS in a season opener.

1998 Orange Bowl (Nebraska over Tennessee). Nebraska in this era was like the peak of Saban Alabama. They were bigger, faster, and tougher than you. A fully automated asskicking machine.

2026 Rose Bowl (Indiana over Alabama). Ty Simpson getting hurt allowed this to get uglier than it may have been but it wasn't going to be pretty regardless.

That was just a random regular season game. Although I wish that Stoops had actually tried in the 4th quarter and scored 3 more TDs 2 of which were followed by a 2 point conversion to win 100-0.

That game was as close to even as you can get.
Bama out gained LSU by 60 total yards.
LSU had 150 rushing yards vs 100 for Bama. Bama threw for 200 to LSU’s 100.
Both teams turned it over 2x.
LSU made the plays to win on Bama’s home field, and Bama did not.
I have no idea what Miles’ gameplan was in the rematch, I think his stubbornness made him believe he could use the same approach as 9-6 and win.
He was going up against the GOAT Saban and it showed.

You literally answered your own thought in the same sentence lol. He didn't change anything! Imagine facing a saban/kirby defense for a 2nd time in the height of their prowess and literally repeating your same strategy from the first time (that resulted in 9 points, mind you).

People talk about 21-0 as being some huge arse kicking while ignoring the fact that it was a 12 point game late in the 3rd quarter, and still only a 2 possession game with 5 minutes left to go in the game. Demoralizing and embarrasing sure, but it wasn't the giant beatdown that some people make it out to be.

Saddest in natty games was either 95 Florida vs neb(line was uf by 3.5) or 2018 bama vs clem(line bama by 6). Probably lean 95 bc it wasn’t just a beating it was a down hill run the ball run the clock and still skull drag the favorite. Wouldn’t discredit what uga did they beat the hell out of a good football team but they were 13.5 favorites in a national championship game. 95 and 18 had dogs catching everyone by surprise.

If you weren’t interested in your team winning the national championship then why are you even watching the sport?

Considering it's TCU and getting there was already a major achievement, I say no. I say Alabama over Notre Dame 41-14 is the saddest.

Notre Dame is supposed to be a blue blood, but they were flatly helpless in that game. It could have been 70-0 if Bama didn't take their foot off the gas.
