TCU is quickly forgotten.

It should have created some positive change in CFB given the stage on which it happened. Instead the game has gotten worse in most people's opinion. Most of that is due to an aging fan base in the same way the population in general is older and old fricks like to bitch and whine about eerything....but college football has gotten somewhat less interesting for most hard core fans over the last decade or so. I know the ratings don't reflect that BUT those ratings include people tuned in but tuned out and doing other things, not everyone tuned in is watching every snap with laser focus.

As a UGA fan that game wasn't interesting after about a quarter. I can only imagine what it was like for the rest of CFB. Seeing players sharing chicken wings with fans at the start of the 4th quarter, or hell anytime during a game, should have told the powers that be in CFB how shitty a product they were putting out....instead they seem to have doubled down on the shitty....

Nah

As frustrating as it was to watch, at least you still had half the team putting up a fight. In the 4th quarter, one team had done zero on offense, the other had 5 scoring drives, and it was only 15-0. One big play gets you back in it. That was death by a thousand papercuts.

65-7 was complete domination on both sides of the ball, and it was against a team that had actually won their semifinal to get there.

TCU fan after that game: If UGA had only been awarded one point per TD they would still have beaten us.

Texas fan responding: No. If they had been awarded 0 points for a TD and just given the opportunity to kick an XP they still would have beaten you.

I was not surprised by this. It was very obvious throughout the season that one team had a decent QB and the other did not. LSU was lucky to win the first game.

This. Not every game is going to be Texas-USC, and we’ve had a fair share of beatdowns in the NC (Nebraska-Florida, Miami-Nebraska, USC-OU, Florida-Ohio State, Alabama-Notre Dame, Clemson-Alabama), but I remember thinking, “this is what the game has been reduced to?”

TCU had zero business being there. It was like watching the Little Giants run around against Georgia.

Not that they would have won, but cheating Michigan really let CFB fans down on that one.

Extremely lopsided but I think more people thought that would happen (maybe not to that degree) so it wasnt really a big surprise or anything. TCU was simply outmatched basically everywhere. The only thing surprising about TCU was actually beating Michigan the previous game who had just romped OSU a few games prior and was undefeated. But TCU was coming off an embarrassing loss to 3-loss KSU in the B12 CCG just prior to that so TCU certainly seemed like a highly vulnerable team.

UGA was like a 2 TD favorite headed into that game and the largest spread in a title game in history (since they started back in 1998).
