I can agree with this.

As an LSU fan, I hope we don't expand any more in terms of seating capacity. We have tapped out on butts in seats I think. I would rather see upgrades to the old girl instead.

Hard to fill 100k seats for Utah State, GA Southern and the Demons from Natchitoches.

I believe Utah State and NW State just cleared 100k and the opener against GA Southern was 97k.

Schools around the country are struggling to get people into the stadium.

College football attendance is indeed declining and it is becoming a regional sport.

I'm guessing the top 3 are all Big 10 teams? Michigan, Penn State, Ohio State?

Indeed.

I just saw an article in the Oregonian about how bad it's gotten here in Pac 12 country.

You will see tons of empty seats tonight in Santa Clara. A good bit of that has to do with playing on a Friday night in the Bay Area (which has wet, chilly winters just like the Northwest does) and will be helped immensely when the game moves indoors next year to a real destination (Vegas). But even then, I'm not sure the Pac 12 will fill that place unless it's a true play-in game like this year's game nearly was.

Point is, most fans are fickle these days and would rather stay home and watch the game on their nice widescreen and not have to pay $10 for a freaking beer. I haven't been to a game in several years. I miss the game day experience but it's so much easier to stay home and see any game you want to see.

How can vandy justify keeping their coach?

that's what I was going to post. heck, ole miss might've kept Luke if the attendance was high enough.

if vandy doesn't care enough, they need to be replaced.

9 of the top 10 are SEC and Big 10.

Rest of the conferences are worthless.

That's what we get for letting an aggy coach our football team. At least we didn't have to worry about him trying to score with any of the volleyball players...or with our offense in any of the games.

And that’s why there has never been or will ever be any significant success at A$M. 7-5 draws great attendance at top dollar. It’s NOT ABOUT winning.

CFB attendance is declining because even for a game vs a bad team it costs over 500 dollars to take a family of 4.

There’s a great deal of truth to that.

Our fans appreciate our gameday culture as much as they do the outcome of the contest.
It’s about traditions, supporting the team, and interacting with visitors.
Shoot, we have a tradition that prevents us from “booing.”

We’re loyal to our coaches to a fault and keep them around far longer than other programs would.
Students/Former Students having fun is what football is about for most Aggies.
And it was exponentially more so the case when the entire student body built Bonfire.

That’s not to say the university isn’t taking clear and actionable steps to win.
