Watching some regional highlights with coworkers and came across the walk off GS for TN. I get it, it’s probably a once in a lifetime moment for the batter but throwing the bat in the air and throwing the helmet while rounding the bases seemed a little much. Will they or how long before the NCAA or SEC implements a penalty for excessive celebrations? If they do where do you draw the line and what could the possible penalties be? What are your thoughts?

And I’m not hating on the kid at all, I understand the excitement. Just a discussion with coworkers and wanted more feedback

Honest celebration instead of taunting is fine in my book. That was a big moment so let them show some emotion as long as they aren't doing a Baker Mayfield ballzack shake at the opponents.

Lack of institutional control!!

Win should be annuled and player suspended for life.

On second thought, the lady softballers behave like that if someone hits a single.

Well, ban them, too. Damn it.

I'm all for celebrating but theres a fine line between that and showing your arse/taunting. There has been a lot of it the last few years and the jackasses that say "yOu MuSt Be FuN aT pArTiEs, BrO" are a big reason for the problem

These college kids see douchebags like Ronald Acuna bat flip and show up pitchers every night and think it's cool. If baseball still let pitchers put one high and tight after shite like that without ejection or warning, this problem would fix itself

Let the kids play. Quit being a fricking bitch. Every sport see’s athletes celebrate and baseball fans just want them to be bored.

I don’t think we have a problem with athletes. I think we have a problem with a lot of baseball fans being butt hurt pussies

The helmet toss should be stopped, rest is fine with me

You're out for that in high school, doesn't matter if it's a home run. I'd have called that Tenner guy out

Why? Would you toss the baws that throw their gloves after the last out?

You can celebrate without being a douche.

And when he pushed his teammates off of him to flex and yell at the opposing dugout he definitely crossed the line.

Exactly, it’s why no one watches baseball. It’s an old man’s sport. Any celebration in baseball is “excessive” unless you slowly jog around the bases not making eye contact

Yeah? Well if you don't like getting beaned in the head, don't act like an arse

Great play and moment for the young man and UT marred by shitty behavior on the batter’s part. Not a timeless highlight video the program can use anymore.
Baseball at other levels has its own way of taking care of this. He might eat a few fastballs under the chin in upcoming at bats…

I'm ok with celebrations while looking at teammates or fans and am even ok with the helmet toss. I'm not ok with staring down the opponent like that UT player did. That is a taunt and a douchebag move regardless of age or level being played. Win with dignity, lose with grace.
