Gloves aren't likely to nail unsuspecting fielders walking into their dugouts like helmets are

not really, but ok

otherwise you wouldn’t be so invested in this argument

or maybe it hurts your feeling so much that someone would have the audacity to say anything about a player on your team that you're fully invested in defending a player acting like that

it’s okay to have your feelings hurt, it’ll all be okay

is this really all you have to add to this conversation?

There’s nothing more to say to you, you’re clearly butt hurt over a 19 year old kid. Again, that says more about you than anything else.

These college kids see douchebags like Ronald Acuna bat flip and show up pitchers every night and think it's cool. If baseball still let pitchers put one high and tight after shite like that without ejection or warning, this problem would fix itself

Holy shite there are really people like this out there. People think guys like Acuña, Tatis, etc. are BAD for the game and it needs to be stopped by the old guard before it bleeds over to the college game? Holy shite I’ve seen it all.

By the way last time someone (Jose Ureña) threw at Ronald Acuña for hitting too many home runs/showing them up he literally carried his bat all the way to first before he flipped it the next time he homered off him

Actually, I think it says more about him than anything else, but to each his own

if all he did was a bat flip, no one would be talking about it That you and your band of idiots keep calling it a simple bat flip is, quite frankly, hilarious. Celebrating is fine, celebrating with tyour team after a big moment is great. Making it a point to taunt and show up your opponent is not. See the difference? I guess sportsmanship is for pussies to people like you

I don’t know what to tell you man, call your congressman or something. Maybe he’ll have some sympathy for you

Or maybe I'll just discuss it on a message board like I've been doing? Isn't discussing things that happen in sports the point of this place?

You seem to be doing a lot more bitching and moaning than discussion. Again, you might as well get used to it because it’s not going anywhere

If any of you think baseball is ever going to side with this line of thinking over superstar 22/23 year olds like Tatis/Acuña you aren’t living in reality. It literally doesn’t matter what old college coaches/ex players etc. say. MLB literally had a marketing slogan of “Let The Kids Play”. The genie is out of the bottle and it’s not going back in.

If pitchers are going to strut off the mound like Connor McGregor and do the tomahawk chop when they strike out Braves players there is no reason guys can’t stand there and admire it for a few seconds or carry the bat to first/make a show of it when they hit a bomb.

But Gilbert threw his helmet

Yeah I knew the redasses would be out with Gilbert’s celebration but I just can’t wrap my head around people acting like the way all the young stars in the big leagues play the game is somehow harming the game. It’s pretty much fully accepted at that level now and has been for 3-4 years.

I guess the college game and its fans are still hanging on to the days where no fun was allowed despite the fact that these kids see all sorts of taunting/bat flipping/helmet tossing/pimp jobs every night on Instagram and Twitter from the best players in the world.

Bat flips are as cool as someone shouting “let’s go!”

Turn the page, already

If a guy strikes you out and does this walking off the mound what would you do if you hit one 450 off him?

Do you think pointing out the biggest jackasses in baseball are somehow helping this argument of yours?

Bauer is the highest paid pitcher in the game and Acuña is the current betting favorite to win NL MVP and is on pace for a 50/40 season.

When guys like this play the game with flare do you think it’s going anywhere?
