Bold words from a fan of a team that didn't

enjoy much success on the football field
until the last 2 seasons.

I did not know this....further proof that basketball is more akin to pro wrestling than football. Nary a team with a good player is in the final four??? BAHAHAHAHAH. And a UK fan, having never supported a winner in anything OTHER than basketball, brings this up as some sort of indication that basketball is normally meaningful except this year when a bunch of talentless hacks have bested everyone else in the nation and one of them will be crowned champions.
Bless your heart. It must be really challenging to be this….special.

It kind of seems like Georgia fans are ashamed of their school's stunning, humiliating lack of success in basketball, and are coping by lashing out. If basketball is beneath your notice, then why are you, in fact, noticing it?

I lived in Athens from 1996 through 2007. I went to UGA basketball games because it seemed like something to do. I lived in Atlanta from 1965 through 2007 and went to a bunch of Hawks games over the years because it seemed like something to do. Neither really was something to do though....just a way to cope with a lack of college football. The NBA is far superior to college though, thats for sure. Its as scritped as pro wrestling but the athletes are better....
The State of Georgia has the #1 basketball HS recruit for 2023. He isn't going to UGA. The Top 9 HS recruits from this state (all 5* or 4*) are not going to UGA.
The State of Georgia had 4 of the top 10 HS players in Perfect Game's prep HS rankings. None of them committed to UGA. The state of Georgia had 4 kids drafted in the 1st rd of the MLB draft. None were UGA commits. Georgia had 10 players in the top 70 nationally, but the highest ranked in-state UGA signee was #105.
The massive population growth of the state means UGA shouldn't have to snag an undervalued Small Forward out of Philadelphia or some shortstop who is a diamond that needs some polishing out of Florida. The talent in right in our backyard.

I agree....if basketball and baseball meant anything to many people in Georgia UGA would be a power in both. It doesn't, UGA aint.

No, UGA doesn't because UGA doesn't, no one else is interested because its a charade of a sporting contest more akin to pro wrestling than even gymnastics. I ain't the one selling championship game tickets 2 for a buck fifty....thats the college basketball "fan" doing that...

The only time uga basketball tickets get north of $75 is when they play a rival. The rest of us conference blue bloods see home ticket prices regularly in the hundreds…and we pack out our gyms.
Sorry you feel left out.

College basketball is second only to college football from my perspective.
And I would enjoy it a lot more if we actually fielded a competitive team.
I'm elated with our 2 national championships in football but embarrassed that UGA is not competitive in 2 of 3 main sports: football, basketball and baseball.

If there was a way to gage viewer and fan interest by viewers who tune in to watch basketball and football games we could compare them and not need to start a dumb thread.
A simple google search or pollute the internet?
Pollute the internet is undefeated.

Ok, you picked a year with historic also rans with small and uninterested alumni bases. This was last year

In 2022, the average resale price for a ticket to the National Championship game was $212.00.
SeatGeek
And remember, this is the 6th post season game played for each of these two teams.
Also, the entire premise of this thread is UGA doesn’t care, does anyone?

Remember, UGA only has 5 tournament wins in their entire history.
