Does anyone really care about College Basketball

Fans and supporters of schools who can't seem to enjoy much success on the football field have, of late, been busy extolling the virtues of basketball as somehow meaningful.
College basketball is going to crown a champion soon...if you'd like to attend in person you can do so for a measly $74 LOL. You can't get into a Auburn UAB football game for $74 but the culmination of the heralded "March Madness" price of entree is $74....BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Nearly the same number of tickets were available for this years college football championship. The cheapest tickets were north of $350. That game will be in the same stadium as the basketball game this year. I would bet you can't park your car in the parking lot for $74 but you can watch the NCAA crown a champion in basketball, live and in person, for that LOL. Basketball is a joke...

LSU has never truly been elite in hoops
Have had some really good players over the years but no consistency outside a couple of final four runs
It bides time between football and baseball and even in Nov and dec no one really cares because they never schedule decent non conf games to get fan base excited

I could never get into it. Is it because LSU has never been elite in basketball? maybe but not entirely...even when LSU was good I didn't watch most of the games...to each his own I guess.

This is what not having a NCAAT win since 1996 (because Jim Harrick and his son) can do to the psyche of a fanbase.
There is absolutely no reason why we shouldn't be dominant in basketball and baseball with the amount of talent in the ATL metro area.

I did not know this....further proof that basketball is more akin to pro wrestling than football. Nary a team with a good player is in the final four??? BAHAHAHAHAH. And a UK fan, having never supported a winner in anything OTHER than basketball, brings this up as some sort of indication that basketball is normally meaningful except this year when a bunch of talentless hacks have bested everyone else in the nation and one of them will be crowned champions.

I lived in Athens from 1996 through 2007. I went to UGA basketball games because it seemed like something to do. I lived in Atlanta from 1965 through 2007 and went to a bunch of Hawks games over the years because it seemed like something to do. Neither really was something to do though....just a way to cope with a lack of college football. The NBA is far superior to college though, thats for sure. Its as scritped as pro wrestling but the athletes are better....
