Why are Georgia fans so insecure about sports besides football?

UGA fan is mad that Georgia has an absolutely terrible basketball program and they aren't getting football attention, so he takes it out on another sport

That’s my question. It’s bizarre.

Why are UGA fans so ate up with the idea that schools should be atleast enjoyable and entertaining in more than 1 sport? UGA is and traditionally has been a gymnastics school but the recent success in football should show a glimmer of what the better SEC schools get in year round sports to follow and enjoy.

NBA got dunked on by Womens CBB

Front Office Sports
@FOS

Iowa-Louisville drew 2.5 million viewers on ESPN on Sunday — more than any of ESPN's NBA games so far this season.

One would think were this so that tickets would be in demand....they ain't.

The 1st weekend would suck to go to a game imo.
So much action it is best to watch at home with a few tvs or a sports bar.

The regular season of college football begins around the first of September and ends the end of November. That’s 3 months. Go ahead and bore the hell out of yourself talking football 12 months every year. The rest of us will enjoy all the sports, including football!!!

I believe this sums it up. The op has hurt feelings because no one gives a crap about their natty and have moved on. Pretty sad he can’t enjoy what happened without being acknowledged for it.

I’m actually more impressed by what their basketball team during that tornado tournament than the football thing.

They are a gymnastics school with recent football success.

UGA has more team national championships in more sports than anybody in the league save Florida.

This narrative that UGA is only good at football is laughably stupid.

UGA is historically bad at men’s basketball….that’s true but that’s about it.

They are one of the five highest revenue grossing athletic departments in the country. They’re doing alright.

Fans and supporters of schools who can't seem to enjoy much success on the football field have, of late, been busy extolling the virtues of basketball as somehow meaningful.

College basketball is going to crown a champion soon...if you'd like to attend in person you can do so for a measly $74 LOL. You can't get into a Auburn UAB football game for $74 but the culmination of the heralded "March Madness" price of entree is $74....BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Nearly the same number of tickets were available for this years college football championship. The cheapest tickets were north of $350. That game will be in the same stadium as the basketball game this year. I would bet you can't park your car in the parking lot for $74 but you can watch the NCAA crown a champion in basketball, live and in person, for that LOL. Basketball is a joke...

In another word you are a loser!

Nope. For the past 35 years, I could care less about it. Much better sports to watch out there.
