Mothers and close relatives. Drug lords and distributors. Lawyers seeking potential clients. Gold chain salesmen. Bondsmen. Social workers. <= you take those away and pro teams are estimated to only have about 68 fans in the crowd, 45 for college.

Nope. For the past 35 years, I could care less about it.
How much less?

College basketball atmosphere blows the doors off college football atmosphere. It's fricking insane how loud some of those arenas can get.

I get it. UGA is two time defending champion. Obviously football is king so all the other sports don’t matter. I promise you, Kentucky, Duke and all the other blue bloods are just as passionate about hoops as you are about football. It’s very small of you to act like nobody cares about basketball.

I drove by a milking barn a few weeks ago and it sounded just like Cameron Indoor when Duke is in a close one....small buildings with lots of bellowing cattle, be they gyms or barns, share many similarities.

I am addicted to cfb, but I am also crazy about march madness. The beauty of it is the so-called best teams don't always win and most games are riveting when underdogs meet the top dogs. Anyone can win (altho top dogs usually do) but it is the teams that play the best, and just as imortantly, ARE THE LUCKIEST at the time. It is so, so refreshing to see underdogs win. I love it........ What does average cost to go to games have to do with anything????????

There is absolutely no data to suggest that basketball at any level in any state or region has nearly as many passionate fans as football. Cameron seats less than 10K. Wallace Wade seats better than 40K. UK can seat about 20K for basketball but they can seat close to 70K for football. TV Audiences for games during the college football season dwarf tv Audiences for the basketball natty.
For about 130 years football revenue at the average university which has an athletic department and a football program has surpassed all revenue generated by the next 35 sports combined, including mens and womens basketball. No one, and I mean no one, not even the coaches and players and their mamas and daddies care about the latter. Folks will pretend to be interested in women's college basketball for the same reason they would pretend to be interested in the special olympics...but its is simply political correctness.
If basketball is so compelling and so many people are so enthralled with it why aren't there numbers indicating this? The fact is that relatively few sprorts fans care a thing about basketball at any level.

Outside of football, people only follow the other sports in the SEC if they win. UGA doesn't sell out their arena for womens gymnastics anymore. Neither does Bama. UT hasn't had a full house for womens basketball in years. Bama baseball games, after the 3rd inning you can get in for free. Auburn swimming used to be a big deal to their fans. Hasn't been in many years. If UGA ever got good in basketball you'd follow it.

I do along with most other sports. But, I competed in several sports focusing on just one in college. If you keep score, sport or game, it matters. Non-athletes don’t understand or appreciate competition for all sports. Instead, they rely on the accomplishments of others to “thump their chest” because they have no accomplishments of their own in sports or life. I’m short, they are losers in life’s lottery.

On the same level as? Maybe.
Blow the doors off? Absolutely not.
Quantity has a quality all on its own

Or, and hear me out, I like watching teams representing my school win.

Less than the amount of National Championships that UL-Lafayette has in football. That’s how much less.

Truth. The only fanbase I've seen as passionate as we are about Kentucky basketball is Alabama football. For better and for worse.

You suck here too. Damn.

I stop caring about basketball when lakers and Celtics and then dale brown left lsu.
With that said w March madness on the men’s side is exciting.
Women’s basketball is terrible and sucks cock.
My school is in the final four. So that should say enough.

You didn't care when LSU beat #1 Duke during their Final Four run in 06?

Yes.

Ticket price doesn’t have to be high to make it a big deal. Final fours are played in domes promise the price would be higher in the smoothie king center verses the super dome. Unless you have lower level seats, it’s better to watch at home.
