The same for Tennessee

Tennessee has been a better football program over the last 5 years than OU and Aggies. Thats just a fact. More wins, more top 10 finishes, and same amount of playoffs. What more could you want to see in a current span?

18 year old kid has seen Mizzou accomplish as much as Tennessee

Not true, Mizzou has one top 10 finish and no playoff appearances in the NIL era which is the only timeframe that matters now

Finally I’d say the big 6 are the big 6 because when you beat them or even lose close it’s a respect builder. No victory over a mid 6 at this time gives much SEC or national clout.

The big 6 are the 6 SEC schools that have won every SEC title since 1977. Everyone knows that

Record verse

Which record, and which verse of which song?

Seriously, though, the original question is a dumb one. Everyone knows what the Big Six means. Until you win an SEC Championship, you can't join the club. If I had to put money on which teams will be the next to do it, though, obviously OU and Texas would be the ones I would pick.

The real question ought to be, once a new team does break through and join the club, do we expand it to a Big Seven, or do we change the definition to, "These six teams have won every SEC title since 1998," and kick Tennessee out?

Auburn and Ole Miss have traded places if you consider the true top 8 programs in the SEC in the NIL era.

Auburn is 35-12 all-time against Ole Miss and has more championships of all flavors. Two wins over Auburn with zero titles to show for in the past forever is not even a drop in the bucket of what it would take to supplant that spot.

I can’t believe anyone cares. I have seen people fight over some stupid shite here but this might take the cake.

It’s from an article 20 years ago. A writer was researching and noticed that every category, the same 6 teams were in the top 6. Most importantly SEC titles and National titles. It became the subject of his article.

Big 6 became a thing.

Now it’s just a talking point for forums. You should avoid these threads; this simple subject clearly triggers you.

I know you referring to football but they have won nattys in other sports and have been very competitive so that should count for something cause this league is way bigger than football

Zero championships of any sort during that era is the key phrase.

I have no doubt that both Texas and Oklahoma both would have won a few SEC titles over the past decades had they been in the conference but even still, you gotta win it for real.

Once Again:
6 Teams have won the SEC Championship since 1992 Expansion/First SECCG.

Those 6 schools are known as the “Big 6”.

There is no debate/opinion.

1. I was unaware of the article. That helps explain why it's a constant subject here.
2. Triggered? lmao. I think it's hilarious. At least I know why I keep seeing it here,

I def know what the Big Six means..but they are also very new to the SEC and both very successful programs. So they can't have all the SEC titles the Big Six has...it is impossible being in the league so few years...but they have the national name, the Natties, the pros, the fanbases, etc like those in the Big Six...so seemed like fair question.

Except it’s not…at all. If they are that great from what you are saying they should be in in short order. Seems pretty cut and dry to me. Win and get in.

Once Oklahoma or Texas wins an SEC championship, it will be the big 7. Or possibly stay at the big 6 as Tennessee is finally and deservedly relegated.

Big 6 in the SEC is earned only.
