re: Final hurdle cleared for Atlanta to get NHL for the 3rd time.

I could see this working, specifically because it isn't in Atlanta.
Atlanta is a notoriously terrible pro sports city and the uh... culture, in Atlanta doesn't really overlap with hockey very well.
Forsyth county is booming in growth and more family oriented. Lotta families always looking for things to go do. If they can make going to the NHL game an affordable, family friendly outing I can see them filling up the arena.

They have his manifesto and aren't releasing it, which tells you everything you need to know about what's inside it.
The contents will be known a year or two from now when they hope the story is long since forgotten.

re: Are We Just Going to Pretend the Official Teaser for Resident Evil 9 Didn't Just Drop?

Having both as an option is fine, however I get the feeling the devs probably intended one way or another and I will def. be playing it in whichever the "intended" way is, which I'm assuming will be whatever the default is.
How you design the environments and combat encounters can change dramatically depending on if you're expecting the player to be in 1st or 3rd person, so if you pick the camera style that's not intended, you could def. get an awkward experience at times.

Power hungry lunatics angry they aren't in power
Posted by StansberryRules on 6/14/25 at 7:31 pm
They are attempting to dress their "cause" up as being against government power in general, but what they are actually angry about is they aren't in power.
They screech about "Democracy" while ignoring they have lost all the elections all over the country.
They lost the Presidency. They lost the House. They lost the Senate. They have lost Governorships and State Legislatures as well.
These protests today are the furthest thing you can get from "Democracy" it's the losing side angry they don't have power. Democracy doesn't guarantee you get what you want, hell, quite the opposite. Most of the time you don't get what you want.
And when you lose as badly as they have, you get nothing you want.

re: Rep. Melissa Hortman killed, Sen. John Hoffman shot in 'targeted' shootings

She was the lone Democrat to vote with Republicans, sounds like a heck of a coincidence before a target assassination. Her husband was likely collateral damage.
As for the Senator, he voted against the repeal so no immediate "reason" seems apparent.

re: Is the raunchy high school/college comedy genre dead?
Posted by StansberryRules on 6/13/25 at 2:16 pm
There are way more dead genres than alive ones right now.
If it's not a comic book movie, an animated kids movie, or a low budget horror film, the odds of it making noise at the box office is slim.

re: What's the Rant's opinion of Les Miles as a coach?

Really good coach for his era but the game changed and he couldn't change his philosophy to keep up

No better example of a war pig than Lindsey Graham. He's getting absolutely dragged by both sides for this idiotic tweet which reveals his mindset
Unmarried, childless, grandchildless old man who will gleefully send your sons and daughters to to their brutal deaths to accomplish absolutely nothing.

re: Rubio with an EXCELLENT statement on these attacks

Good. If Israel is truly a sovereign nation they can decide who they wanna attack and they can deal with any blowback by themselves. No money or weapons or intel from us. We aren't their older brother.

Thing is, internet fame burns white hot and burns out quickly. People regularly go from the most famous thing int the world to completely forgotten within a month or two.

re: Israel is attacking Iran

Israel did this because they know if Iran retaliates that America will slavishly do whatever Israel says because of the bought and paid for pro-Israeal lobby.

Seems like they got tired of the negative attention she was bringing. You can be a whore but not quite as big as she was doing it. She was banned under some generic "extreme activity" clause.
Last straw was her upcoming petting zoo event.

Stats from practice. Reminds me of how after every single spring game college fans are convinced their new QB is gonna win the Heisman because of the crazy stats he's been putting up.

re: What percentage of people do you believe care about laws?
Posted by StansberryRules on 6/12/25 at 2:23 pm
It's important to have a common people with a common culture so that the laws accurately reflect a general consensus about right and wrong.
A divided society has laws that huge segments of the population vehemently disagree with.
If I find out some teacher is whispering LGBT propaganda in my kid's ears, no law of man is going to protect them from me.
