which wasn't possible without the replay.
But there is replay.
Not to rag on you (well maybe a little), but Alabama used replay to get a second put back on the clock in the 2013 Iron Bowl.
I know it is a different set of circumstances, but Saban and Alabam certainly would have accepted the outcome (thanks to replay) if it had gone otherwise.

I’ll bet your one of those Bama fans who have been lighting up Facebook non-stop the last couple of days with an endless stream of stupid memes ranging from how Bama got screwed, Bama’s still the best, and how losing the Iron Bowl doesn’t phase you in the least.

Correct, but it was played as if it were the same set of circumstances

again, which anyone with two brain cells to rub together and has watched more than 15 minutes of college football understands...is that it is a flaw in the current rule that needs to be addressed.
I dont think its a flaw. And the arbiters of the rules dont seem to think its a flaw. But by all means continue showing us that you have the emotional development of a turnip.

No shite sherlock.
One is a clock stoppage because the player went out of bounds. The clock starts when the offense is set.
The other is on a first down. The clock starts when the chains are set.

Yeah but until the chains are set is a lot different than stopping until the team is lined up
All that means is the clock runoff would be less in the NCAA than the 10 seconds in the NFL (which they determined is the average amount of time it takes to get set)
Yeah, there could certainly be a rule adjustment to more closely mirror the actual dynamics of the game.
For example:
Neither side is allowed to substitute players from the previous play until the clock starts which is how it would actually play out without the replay.

If they are reviewing a play it does.

It happened.
Current rules were applied.
AU executed what they practice- they call it “whistle snap.”
You may “feel” it is “unfair”, but it’s over.

It does when Lil Bear Saban is on the field throwing a tantrum.

For this type of review they should not be allowed to sub players unless they have a time out.
If AU had made a hail Mary pass then so be it but allowing them to have basically a free time out to sub in the kicking team is BS.

No defense against Bo Nix.
You do realize AU loses by 14 without 2 pick 6's and a missed fg, correct? Actually 17 without the phantom 1 second fg before half. But I digress.

Yeah but without a missed coverage and kickoff return Auburn still wins, so lets digress...

The NFL fixed this issue with the rule that a clock runoff happens on a review stoppage of play so that a team doesn't get to benefit from the clock being stopped
No.
The difference in the NFL is that the clock never stops because of a first down to set the ball like it does in college.
Otherwise, the NFL's runoff rule looks a lot like the NCAA runoff rule:
quote:
There is a 10-second runoff if a replay review of a play after the two-minute warning results in the on-field ruling being reversed and the correct ruling would not have stopped the clock.
LINK
In college, the correct ruling allows for the clock to stop while the ball is set (after a successfully achieving a first down on the previous play).
In the NFL, that will never happen without using a timeout.

Auburn would have won 48 - 0 if they'd stopped bama from scoring.
Anyone can come up with any asinine outcome they want when playing by your rules.

that's not what lost them the game. No defense against Bo Nix.
You're kidding, right? Bo Nix led Auburn to 34 points. Auburn defense scored 2 TDs.
If Saban could recruit a fricking FG kicker once in a while, those assholes would be licking their chops at another eye test playoff spot.

The run off isn’t fair to the team trying to drive the field. It’s not their fault the refs are incapable of getting the call correct right away on the field.
