'll chime in and hope to give you comfort that you're not alone. Not the same situation as you and I'm a few years behind you (coming up mid 40s) but where I'm struggling right now is being stuck yearning for a situation that doesn't exist. I love the ages my kids are at right now and everything with them is a blast but my oldest will be in high school next year and I can feel that time with all of us together slipping away. Because of that I hate going to work everyday, even though it's simple work and affords me a great deal of time off, because it keeps me from doing what I want to be doing which is enjoying our time together. So I keep longing to be able to retire even though it's like 15 years away and when that time comes nothing will be like it is now and presumably (and I guess hopefully lol) my kids will be off doing their own thing and I'll be longing for these days.

Wow - this just hit home very real and hard. I turn 42 tomorrow with 12 and 8 year old boys. On paper I’m in a good place, but Im at a point where I feel like I’m having to choose between my job or my family. I’ll choose my family every time, but the effect on the job will ultimately impact my family. I’m terrified on the speed of life now - months go by in the blink of an eye, and the stress to make it happy for everyone has taken a huge toll on me to where I can’t enjoy it. The great big ironic catcher-22 of life
Wide open clank.

We are panic pressing and don’t have anyone that’s mature and smart to calm us down.

Dylan Cardwell statue campaign

No - he doesn’t deserve one on his athletic achievements alone. But with all the portal/nil crap, and now that Dylan has made the NBA when no one thought he would, I really think he should get a statue at Auburn as the quintessential “student-athlete” and ambassador of the university. He could have transferred and done all the stuff, but he stayed loyal to the university that gave him a chance and he loves it. In today’s world, I think it should be celebrated.
But they don’t have to commit or sign by then.

The big issue is getting enrolled in school for spring.

That is a large man

Good grief

He was one that we thought we may flip out of HS.
Was Pettigrew one of the anticipated ‘4’ USF receivers?
Honestly shocked Cain is sticking around, but that’s great news. I think he may be tailor made for this offense
So Texas forced out Parker Livingston to make room for Cam.

What great irony would it be for him to come to AU and become an All American

Seems like you are a little more tame now. Funny how everyone said to wait until the portal actually opened before freaking out.

The kid that wasn’t even the starter at Mercer until the starter got injured? Yeah, ok

I live in Macon, and the Mercer QB won the equivalent of the freshmen heisman and absolutely carved up teams. I’d take him with open arms. He’s gonna be a player somewhere. He was truly like Joe Burrow just lacked the measurables

In the new portal era that system isn’t as successful. Now days you need to identify and obtain a star QB and figure out how to make a patchwork roster of experienced players and first year transfers into a cohesive unit in one season. I think that is one reason Indiana is such a juggernaut. While many of the players are transfers, many transferred together from JMU with Cignetti. So even though technically they are transfers, they all have years of experience playing together in the same system.

So - according to your own analysis- Auburn is about to run the state once Brown commits?

Byrum Brown- Cam Newton Lite

7 of the most productive skill players coming with him

Defense largely intact.

Do tell Cap - why will AU suck next year then?

re: Robby Ashford Player of the Game

For the love of jang, can we not go here.

Robby fricking sucked
No retort?

Enjoy the Indiana dick in your arse and prayers for your dog/wife.
You started a thread trying to be cheeky about Auburn QBs, whilst your own is a fricking bloody vagina.

Stop
Your QB gave up mid game. Id rather have no QB than that pussy
Looks better than Ty Simpson for sure
247 has Byrum Brown as committed to Auburn on their portal rankings.

Edit - it may just be predictions but weird they only have it for a couple of guys

You want to create apathy in a fanbase? Say that your ceiling is 9 wins. That was the bullshite that was spewed for decades at Ole Miss. And that’s exactly what it is. bullshite. Especially at a place with the resources Auburn has

Pretty sure he’s talking about the short-term and not decades like Ole Miss. Just like your success is very likely to be short term and OM will fall back to its historical place, and probably pretty soon.
