Or else what, they are going to fire him?
Exactly. This is Ole Miss. they have no leverage. ?? they woukd owe him money if they fired him instead of just getting paid for him to leave. It’s just stupid all around.

Seems to reason Ole Miss would want an answer soon as possible if Lane plans to leave.

or Ole Miss is cutting the cord and moving on without him. I have also heard that it's the Sunday after the Mississippi State game. Both stories are the same essentially if Kiffin isn't going to commit to stay in oxford, he isn't going to be coaching in the playoffs. As an alum I hopes he stays but I completely get this move, if true by the administration. What say ye?
So you think Ole Miss is going to give up what could possibly be their only chance at a legitimate national championship because their only coach to ever get them there might take another job at the end of the year?

I don’t really care anymore who they hire. It’s no longer my money in any form really so they can rehired les and Ed as co head coaches and let Les run the offense and Ed to run the defense. I’ll still watch the games most of the time but honestly, sports in general of any kind just doesn’t much matter to me anymore these days.
re: Fox Sports Joel Klatt reversing earlier belief, Kiffin will stay at Ole Miss. lol

No they don’t.

He quite literally played IN a natty already. What?
But did he win?
It’s not Saban.
But why would he go there from Clemson? It doesn’t make sense,

My guess is, we have a deal all but done with someone.
These fans?
Did he win a championship for LSU this year?

I agree. Especially since being a good recruiter these days is not as important.
You have a solid argument to make for him. I do think he is a good coach. I think he’s really good at putting players into position to be successful. He just always sucked at recruiting. He’s a bit on the lazy side too. I certainly wouldn’t pay top money for him.
No. I hope we hire cheap and just put the rest into players. Give the “up and comer” coach 2 years to “ get it done” or he’s shown the door and we just hire the next “up and comer” on the cheap all the while we are pumping all of that money we are saving on coaching into NIL to ensure a solid roster regardless of the coach.
Let’s face it. The days of it being about the team or the coach you play for is pretty much over. It’s all about the money now. I’m not saying the coach isn’t important but not at the same level it used to be, it used to be they had to be better recruiters than they were actual coaches. Well now, it can be solely about their coaching ability. “LSU will get you the players, can you coach them to a championship?”

If you listen carefully you can hear all the decent to good coaches saying "no".
To be honest. That might be the best thing that could happen to LSU right now. Maybe a decade of sucking beyond shitty would finally get them to either commit fully to being good or just abandoning it all. This piss pot shite that they been doing ain’t cutting it.

K.
You’re demonstrably wrong but whatever. You keep living in delulu world.

And people wonder why these players choose to sit out meaningless bowl games.
If they want to keep any interest in these bowl games at all, I’d make them pre season matchups that the outcomes don’t matter. Push regular season back a month giving the cooler temps more time to come in and use the bowl games as a practice game before season openers.

Wow. Talk about a strike out if that’s the hire. LSU may not do better but if that’s the bar, they won’t do worse.
