My mom lives in BFE Maine. She mailed me a box 3 weeks ago usps and it took 16 days to get here.
I mailed a box FedEx ground to her friday afternoon and it just got there an hour ago. I couldn't drive it myself any faster than that. Its 2300 miles door to door.

Iirc, the law was passed in response to 2 or 3 police being killed while doing traffic stops. They were hit by motorists while standing on the shoulder.
