I get Saban bringing it up as it's his responsibility to put it out there but I hope this is the last time it's discussed by him. It's not a big deal in the grand scheme of scheduling with the rotation of every team every 2 years

Why do you have to be so damn reasonable and rational about this, dammit?

I'm not crazy about 16 teams but I really do like the rotation. I'm sure the 3 permanents will be adjusted in due course just as they tinkered with the cross-divisional opponents in the 90s.

Same. I can't wait for the new schedule. As a fan and a season ticket holder seeing every team more often is a huge win.

I don't pretend to know everything about scheduling but what I have learned over the past couple of decades in regard to College football is this. Nick saban knows more about winning football than anyone. If you find yourself saying the exact opposite of what nick saban says philosophically.....you need to swiftly assess your situation and figure out how fast you can 180.

In the past 10 years Tennessee is 10th out of 14 in conference winning percentage. Saban is only saying this because he lost to Tennessee for the first time in like 16 years. The schedule is completely fair.

Sounds to me like Coach just wants to bitch about something this offseason.

He got a lot of mileage out of the aTm recruiting class last off-season, now he's moved on to something else. It's what old folks do; they harp on the trivial stuff and make a mountain out of a molehill.

George can't help himself, he's a cut above the legions of imbeciles that live to troll on this board.

How convenient. Easy to pound your chest about what you wanted to do when you get a historical bottom dweller as a permanent.

Why do you think Kelly would change his tune in your hypothetical scenario? Do you think highly of Texas’ football program?

Has there been a year since Coach Saban has been at Alabama that the two have not played?

LSU tried their hardest to get out of the game in 2020 but thankfully they were forced to participate anyway.

I say participate because I can't really remember them playing. 55-17.

Kelly (and LSU fans)wanting to keep LSU relevant. They know they get a lot of exposure playing Bama. You remove that game from LSU's schedule and the LSU fan interest drops like a rock.

We'll play whatever they draw up. Nobody will be able to say Bama doesn't have the toughest road and that will pay dividends in SOS and seasoning a team for the playoffs. Bama will have the most the most competition of any team in the playoffs once we go to 12. There will be seasons where UT, AUB, LSU, UGA and OU will all be on the same schedule.
It's brutal but hey, it is what it is.

The best part is Kelly "we want to play the best" and mentions Ole miss and A&M. Yea coach, You get Ole miss and A&M, It's easy to talk big when you draw those two

True. He'd probably be very disappointed since he wants to play the best!

Worst Win Pct in the Last 10 Years (Future SEC Teams)
16. Vanderbilt - .358
15. Arkansas - .423
14. South Carolina - .512
13. Kentucky - .528
12. Tennessee - .548
11. Texas - .552

Meanwhile, Saban is all bent out of shape over one of his 3 permanent opponents being the 5th worst team in the conference in the last decade.

We talking post-segregation?

Maybe LSU can gift them another coach that leads them to a national title 20+ years in. Just need to water down the CFP enough to let in a team with a losing conference record.

So you’re saying LSU fans are the only ones who have been driving the ratings for that game. Cuz that’s what this is about. And I’d have accepted UF in your place in a heartbeat.

Alabama has played those three for a longer time that Nick has been a relevant HC. Why is he now suddenly complaining? Georgia has played Auburn and Tennessee since divisions began, and Florida for longer that Alabama has played Auburn. Maybe Saban is campaigning for Vandy and the Mississippi schools to give him some cupcakes.
