I wonder what Cam Cameron is up to these days
I’m pretty sure he sells real estate in California.
If you want to hold your breath for longer, hyperventilate beforehand and try thinking of French fries while you’re holding your breath. I picked up that tip as a kid and it sounds weird but it works, I suppose because it takes your mind off the fact that you’re holding your breath.
This was supposed to be Travonte Valentine's breakout year :casty:

I refuse to believe New Orleans has never broken triple digits.
Trevor Knight vs Bama. I thought he would be what Baker Mayfield ended up being.

NCAA adopts new eligibility rules

Under the new rules, players will be granted five years of eligibility to be completed within five years of high school graduation or an athlete's 19th birthday, whichever comes first. There would be limited exceptions for factors like religious missions, maternity leave and military service.
quote:

In effect, the new rule eliminates redshirts across college sports. Under the previous system, athletes had five years to compete over four years. There would not be further waivers for injury or other extenuating circumstances.

For schools with current student-athletes who may be eligible for hardship waivers or extensions of eligibility, the Cabinet indicated that the deadline to submit any waiver requests to NCAA staff is July 31. After that date, waivers would no longer be available for current student-athletes or prospects.

Student-athletes whose fourth season of collegiate eligibility was completed by spring 2026: No additional eligibility.
Currently enrolled student-athletes with eligibility remaining after the 2025-26 academic year: Flexibility for schools to apply the age-based model or continue with the previous eligibility rules (four seasons to compete with five total years of eligibility), whichever is most beneficial to that individual.
Prospects expected to graduate from high school in spring 2027: Age-based model only.
Prospects expected to graduate from high school in spring 2026, regardless of planned enrollment date: Age-based model only.
Prospects who graduated prior to spring 2026 and have not enrolled: The NCAA Eligibility Center will review the prospect's individual circumstances and apply the age-based model or existing delayed enrollment eligibility rules, whichever is most beneficial to that individual.
I am in favor of this but I'm sure it will take about 0.6 seconds for someone to sue over it.

I only know what Joffrey said in GOT. I can't imagine they would change that. I'm guessing the path leading to that will be different than the books?
I would not be shocked if they spin it some way to have Rhaenyra fake her death and escape to Pentos or some shite.
I’ve been to Verdun and been inside Fort Douaumont. While nature has mostly reclaimed the area, you can still tell what happened there with how chewed up the ground is. Also, the amount of graves at the Douamont Ossuary is staggering, and that’s only a fraction of the dead. If you’re into WW1, the museum there is first rate as well. Verdun itself is very out of the way but it was a great experience.

Some of our older posters may remember the derecho that hit Baton Rouge in about 1989.

I’ve been through many hurricanes, but that was the worst looking shite I’ve ever seen.
Wasn’t around for that one but the 2015 derecho is the worst weather I’ve ever seen in my life.

ETA I replied before I read people discussing it earlier in the thread. Point still stands though

Whether all of these species actually existed at some point is questionable.
When you take the number of different species currently on earth and extrapolate that over hundreds of millions of years I don't think it's that farfetched.
Bon's Restaurant in Elton LA. Newer but very solid.

As a happiness specialist, one thing I have seen in the studies and data over the past decade is that sports fandom is one of life’s unalloyed sources of joy. In Fans Have More Friends, the sports writers Ben Valenta and David Sikorjak show that professed sports fans who have favorite teams are twice as likely to be “very happy” compared with nonfans, are far more likely to feel known, and are more grateful about life.
Humans need community and sports are one of the last vestiges of community in modern society so makes sense.
I already picked up 6 gallons of milk and 10 loaves of bread to go with my sandbags.
The silver lining of Louisiana being a shithole is that for better or for worse, it will always retain its identity. You won't be able to say the same for Texas, Tennessee, the Carolinas, or even places like Idaho and Montana in a decade or so.
LSU does not have the infrastructure to keep ramping up the student population and I would bet a good chunk of these students have no business going to LSU anyway, but these university administrators don't care as long as they get that sweet sweet tuition money.
It’s hard to believe this happened 10 years ago now.
