Negative. It was the right call, just a shitty situation.

1983 Immaculate Deflection was a horrible way to lose a football game. Chip shot field goal by great kicker knocked down by a 50 mph gust of wind.

Anytime Ole Miss loses to Arkansas.

Ole Miss loss to Auburn when Laquan Treadwell broke his ankle in the endzone (should have been called a TD).

I don't think there is a place in the rules where you get an extra foot of yardage just because you break your ankle on a play. The ball was coming out at the 2 foot line. It is not even remotely close to a TD.

Hogs should have AT LEAST 3 spots on this list...

98 Stoernover vs Vols

SECCG Fish Fumble vs Florida

4th & 25 vs Ole Miss

List is trash w/o those

How is 1/9/12 not in here? That was a massive blow for LSU fans in a game in which LSU's offense was utterly crushed.

I think LSU fans themselves would admit that was a very depressing loss.

Exactly, they're listing a bunch of last second wins in close games. While disappointing, those aren't really the most depressing.

LSU losing to Vandy in 1990 was pretty damned depressing, as was the loss to USM in 1994 and Houston in 1999. Those games were depressing because they showed that LSU had a long way to go to be considered a good team.

But yeah, the 2011 NCG was more depressing than half the games on that list - and for more than just LSU fans. No one outside of the state of Alabama wanted to see Alabama win that game.

If they ever make a top 10 most depressing wins of all-time list I can assure you this should be #1.

It may not have been a championship game but the 13 men on the field for Tennessee vs LSU deserves to be on the list. Trust me on that one. I went into an actual depression, didn’t talk to anyone for 2 days.

Hell there should be a separate list for Tennessee. We could probably give you 30 depressing losses off the top of our head.

That'd be the worst way to lose IMO

Me too. Kentucky almost ruined LSU’s 2007 season with their triple OT win. Then LSU lost in triple OT to Arkansas on the season finale. They miraculously made it into the championship game against Ohio State, even with two losses. 2007 was a strange season

Uhh, WVU losing to Pitt in 2007 was the most depressing loss in college football history and it didn't even make this list.

First thing that came to my mind; any list that doesn't include the 2007 Backyard Brawl is absolute garbage.

I can think of some better ones

4th and 25
Immaculate Deflection egg bowl
Piss and Miss egg bowl
Tennessee vs Terrance Cody
That whole Les Miles clock management thing

And that one entire game from start to finish in 2008 that we state and Auburn fans do not speak of

Punt Bama punt should have made this list

I was a high school senior and while I was a Bama fan through and through, I rarely gave Auburn a second thought - they just weren't a real threat to us. The way my Auburn friends and even the Auburn wing of my family acted for weeks and months after that game changed my attitude toward Auburn forever, I will always pull against them unless it directly hurts Alabama.

And then it happened again against UNC in the bowl game that same year.

2012

This is the one that sucked most.

2018 was obviously for bigger stakes but we all knew what just being there meant for the future of the program (and lo and behold the drought has since ended).

2012 was the last gasp for the Richt era. Saban’s machine was humming and we were trying to stay nationally relevant in his shadow only to come up just short. 2013 returned a promising squad but we all knew deep down that it was going to be a steep climb to get back to that 2012 SECCG and, sure enough, Richt was gone 3 years later.

the cam newton comeback was way more depressing than the kick six.

bama had been barely keeping up in the kick six game. even though we were undefeated and going for a threepeat, it just felt inevitable that we were gonna lose.

the cam newton game on the other hand was just a spectacular choke job. was brutal. probably the most depressing bama loss for me.

Pittsburgh over #2 West Virginia on Dec. 1st, 2007 has to be the most depressing ever.

Oklahoma over #1 Missouri on Dec. 1st, 2007 is 2nd.

Win and you play for the national championship. Neither school has come anywhere close since.
