frick off. Nothing dumber than seeing two weeks of relevant ratings and extrapolating out some fake board room scenario when you have zero idea what the cost of continuing an SEC package would’ve been.

Classy reply Mr Ape. Glad you noticed that my fake scenario was simple, but helped show how stupid your post was.
Want to make any guesses on total audience numbers will be by the end of the college football season, CBS versus ABC/ESPN? If it continues at even close to this rate I want to see you defend the CBS TV deal.

To be fair, aside from USC-Michigan(which lost nation-wide appeal after the Texas demolition), those games are dog shite

It's a lose lose for CBS and the SEC.

We’re halfway though the season and not once have I even stopped on CBS to so much as check a score. I’ve watched a little Fox. But the vast majority of the football I’ve watched, and I watch every Sat. from 11 AM to about 10:30, has been ABC, ESPN, or SEC Network.

That sums it up nicely. Who wants to watch that crap.

I’m loving the “just keep it on ABC all day for a great tripleheader” feeling I get on Saturdays now. No point in ever changing the channel. Just put it on ABC at 11 AM and let it ride all day.
I do miss the production quality of CBS. They are so good. I can’t believe they settled for the 2nd or 3rd best Big Ten game. Crazy

You started the ad hominem, so take the classy shite up with yourself
The rate where the numbers were higher YoY than the SEC last year for week 4? There is no rate, to be clear, they were lower in week 3 and higher in week 4 vs the same last year. That’s all we’ve got. CBS is a business so if they can sell ads vs what they paid for the rights at the rate of return they want (a simple concept you can’t see to understand) your fake boardroom will be happy.
Maybe it works out, maybe it doesn’t, but 2 weeks of comparable data isn’t going to decide whether a multi year deal is successful or not, but mongoloids on the rant can’t see beyond SEC good B10 bad so I’m not surprised you can’t grasp this. Nevermind that 2 weeks of data isnt even bad, the USC Michigan number is better than many traditional SEC rivalries from prior year.

The same ones laughing at CBS are the same ones who don’t have a pot to piss in and don’t know how to spell TV money.

Sankey needs to milk this for a huge contract

There's still a chance they can recover. Their executives have hit on a brilliant idea. Theyre going to hire a woke tranny spokesperson to appeal to a much wider audience and get away from these beerguzzlin redneck traditional football fans.

I'm laughing at CBS. I can spell. I don't piss in pots. I piss in toilets.
The CBS deal may be good for the B1G but it's not good for CBS. They are paying far more for a less consumed product. The SEC is also getting far more exposure than we ever have. The real winners are:
1. B1G - Best financial deal
2. SEC - Best exposure deal / 2nd best financial deal
3. ABC/ESPN - Huge increase in viewership

They had first pick most weekends, but, iirc, they had swap arrangements with ESPN for several weekends so that they could do double-headers. Plus, afternoon games are a poor time to pick up casual viewers and the sports bar crowd.
I'm all for shitting on CBS, but their SEC schedule never started until Week 3 and Florida-Tennessee was usually the first game of the season

I'm glad that ABC moved our marquee games to 6:30pm.

CBS was already getting fricked by the SEC and their partnership with ESPN. They were limited on time slots and broadcast limits. It makes since they didn't overpay. ABC has pick of the entire lineup and can show 3 games on Saturday if they want. CBS couldn't do that.

Those B1G CBS games are terrible matchups outside of USC-Michigan
wtf are they thinking. CBS with the SEC was almost always the premier matchup of the day
