Carson will have a very expensive car that still has a lot of value - especially since it was his car- when he decides to sell it. It’s not like he is throwing all that money away.
He has earned his NIL and is free to spend it any way he chooses. Lots of people around here are pea green with jealousy. They wish they could afford a Lamborghini instead of the 7 year old mini van they drive.

Lol, nice hatchback Carson

He'll fit in with his wannabe homies with their jacked-up Honda Civics in the Arby's parking lot

If I bought a Lambo it wouldn't be a glorified hatchback.

Man, this has been going on forEVER. Just a little bit of perspective:

I was at La. Tech when Karl Malone was there. One year he shows up in a black IROC Camaro with a custom paint job and a license plate that said "MAILMAN".

Lots of questions back then about how he got the car. Supposedly his grandmother bought it for him as a gift. Oh, and he also had a campus job - turning the golf course sprinklers on and off a couple of times a week. Must have paid pretty well, given what gas and insurance must have cost him on that IROC Z....

Bet I know who...

Just goes to show you the amount of money some of these players are making when they can go out and purchase a vehicle that costs over a quarter of a million dollars!

Just wondering, does this vehicle hold its value pretty well?

Who says it doesn't create a divide?

Sorry, Carson, a sexy car won't fix your ugly face.

It's mire than 1/4 his NIL value. It's a tad more than a drop in the bucket.

And a shitty financial choice. Unless he gets drafted in an early round.

A to zero sports is reporting Beck wants $4M to play in 2024.

Hmm. Does purchasing a $270k car = making money? (I have no idea the terms of the deal, just making a statement)

Curious to see how many of these kids making millions have anything left once their talent runs out, or they get injured... and they are left with their 8th grade equivalent education.

For most people, no it doesn't mean they make money.

We know he made around a million last season in NIL though. That's what UGA's starting QB's make in endorsements in the NIL era.

More than likely he didn't spend 270K. It's likely a leased vehicle where the lease is paid for by a NIL deal for endorsing the dealership.

When someone on your team (or mine) gets a big NIL deal it's fine, but not so much when another team buys one of your players or recruits. It's not jealousy to think this stuff stinks, but it's not the players' fault that the system allows it.

UGA doesn't work that way. YOu choose to play or not and get NIL deals based on your marketability (largely based on your production and if you're a starter... occasionally factoring in other oddities like Tate Ratledge marketing his mullett).

UGA sells the fact that all their scholarship players and most of their walk-ons get some sort of NIL money and that players who are starters often rake in a LOT of NIL money (like the starting QB getting over a million in NIL deals). But UGA doesn't really answer to the "give me more NIL money or I'll go elsewhere". That's why players like Arch Manning and Dylan Raiola ended up going elsewhere.

UGA QB's don't really have to. UGA starting OL generally have NIL deals from 200-600 grand a season.
