1) Its not fair in the slightest. If every school had known from the beginning that this was a possibility, they would have recruited these players. Everyone but LSU has been operating under the assumption that they were not going to do this and now with rosters due, its too late for anyone else
So, you are upset LSU had the foresight that your favorite team did not. Ok.

2) It sets a bad precedent that any team can seek out some local judge to get a TRO to get an exception to any rule in order to give them a competitive advantage over the other teams in the league.
LSU did not start the precedent with TROs. Ok.

3) Former NFL players have no business playing CFB. Again it sets a bad precedent. "Its only this year" ...until another judge decides to use the league allowing it this year to justify some ruling next year that allows NFL players to play
This is a valid point, but that egg was cracked when a former pro basketball player was allowed to play an SEC sport. Cry at the team that set that precedent. Ok

It was dumb when Bama played Bediako and many Bama fans(including myself) hated it...even though its a much different situation with former pro players playing all over CBB
It actually is very different. It gave Bama an unfair advantage. This time around, everyone had that chance. Of course you only want to be angry at the one team who did take advantage.
So, in review....
You got nada much against LSU, but just wish to criticise LSU.
Got it

In what world was Ole Miss given a pass
Are people talking about kicking Ole Miss out if the SEC for playing a 6th year player that was ruled ineligible by the SEC only to be allowed to play because a hometown judge granted him a TRO?
If not then it shows you don’t really care about rules or consistency, you just want to stick it to one of your rivals.

It's a simple fix. Once a player decides to go to the NFL camp he loses his college eligibility
"forfeiting amateur status"
It's simple really and for 50 years no one was stupid enough not to understand it.... suddenly no one can...
Dumb.. just dumb...

Foresight to break the rules? The SEC just stated that its not allowed and the University presidents voted for it...including the LSU President
A game hasnt been played yet and the player isnt officially on the LSU roster. LSU wouldnt be exploiting some loophole, it would be brazenly breaking a rule that everyone including LSU agreed to after the fact to get an unfair advantage over other teams. Its not hard for reasonable people to understand

Foresight to leave a few spots open at the end of the roster in case the players were ruled eligible.

Doesnt matter if they are eligible or not. LSU agreed to the rule not to put them on their team. Regardless of what some elected street corner judge says, if this got taken to federal court, LSU would get pantsed. Are they really going to risk a 50 million dollar roster over a tight end? They would be fools to do so

It is very simple. LSU wants to be in the SEC, or they don’t. They follow the rules set forth by the SEC, or they don’t.

Wait….
Do people ACTUALLY think LSU will be kicked out of the SEC????
I get smack talk etc, but is anyone dumb enough to believe there is even a snowball’s chance in hell that LSU, or any team for that matter gets booted from the conference?
Nobody is that stupid, right?

Did you read the tweet? That dumbass first stated:
They followed it up with:
They argue the SEC doesn’t need a reason to expel someone from the SEC. They then argue the reason the SEC can’t expel LSU. They like many here seem to be very confused.
The other 15 members of the SEC could vote to expel a member and simply say it was for the good of the conference. Or that the member’s values no longer aligned with those of the other members. Or not give a reason at all. A circuit court judge from East Baton Rouge would not have a thing to do with it or about it.
I have said from the beginning that if LSU gets kicked out it won’t be because of a couple of players. It is because they brazenly refused to follow SEC rules approved by all other 15 members.

Expulsion is a business decision the other members take for whatever reason they like
They followed it up with:
quote:
The SEC made a rule, a court enjoined the rule, and the SEC is obeying the court. That is the system working exactly as designed and you cannot expel a member for following an order that binds the conference too.

It's not a Pandora's Box thing
It's precisely a Pandora's Box from the NCAA perspective.
They passed 5 For 5 specifically because redshirt litigation has continually used any exception ever granted as precedent to keep pushing one step further.
Of course, they're concerned that the first thing which happens after 5 For 5 is that immediate exceptions are being granted that cross lines which were previoiusly in tact.
That's exactly what people mean by Pandora's Box.

I think 5 for 5 gets the axe next. Just my prediction.

It started in Colorado, months ago, because the NCAA clearly screwed over players by the date the 5 for 5 rule was passed... athletes had no choice but to try for the NFL because at that time, the NCAA ruled their time playing ball was over... then months later passed the 5 for 5 rule, which impacts the class of 2022

You think this just happened this year? Here's a better question, how many players seeking a TRO in Louisiana are going to a Louisiana school? Keep in mind, we are up to 322 players with TROs according to the NCAA as of last Friday. Precedent was already set... Bama, Ole Miss, Colorado etc. etc. etc.
But now yall get to see how Louisiana play politics because YOU left the door open for US... good luck

The only former NFL player that is currently signed, enrolled, and on a roster at a college program is the OL at TEXAS... i repeat, the only NFL player that is currently signed, enrolled, on a college roster is the OL at TEXAS
This is a fact. I guess, well most of the people on this board, including you, are far too low IQ to have a real conversation but sure...
Again, there are 322 players and over 60 lawsuits from the class of 2022 across all sports that have TROs... Take your ignorant, disingenuous bullshite and let the adults talk this out

Unless you were a player who was told you had no more eligibility and went into the draft only to watch Chambliss get a 5th year.
