Trump has given the green light for this to happen with executive orders but in state Governors and Legislatures have to take the steps. The Dems were working around state and federals through bureaus and agencies.

What a Dumbass. Mexico of all the countries has owned that territory for the shortest time period. From 1821 to 1824 when the territories of New Mexico and California receive semi autonomy. It was their first step in breaking away from Mexico who was not strong enough to police it. They were joined by Baja and Colima territories. Several other territories received autonomy following all the way up to 1836 when Texas revolted.
By 1837 and the Treaties of Velasco signed by Antonio López de Santa Anna - Texas included more land along the Rio Grande that would be part of New Mexico.
By 1848 they lost all that territory in the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo.
So he should go back to 1821 when Mexico was at its greatest expanse, but then he would have to admit that Mexico "stole it from Spain"
