So exactly like Alabama basketball did to the rest of the SEC last year with Bediako.

I understand this point, but no player that is going to make an NFL roster would go back to school (or that is the thought). So, the point is moot when the players that are coming back, which would only be this one year, are not good enough for an NFL roster.

Still do not understand the outrage. We are not talking about Aaron Donald

Well most of the LSU fans on this board are far too low IQ to have a real conversation but sure...

Most educated people with a reasonable IQ know the difference between "Its" and "It's". It's telling when the first word of your first point defines your IQ in such simple terms.

Which one? The Baton Rouge judge who graduated from Southern and is up for reelection in November? Or the appeal judge who overrules him?

This is where I disagree. It's not just about these 2 or 3 guys. It's about what's next, the lines that will be crossed in the future. People will find another loophole to exploit in the future to continue to find an advantage. It's killing college athletice.

All of them.

Every year when Nick Saban was giving away cars and to build All-Star teams and they were winning I didn’t hear any of you Alabama fans complaining then.

Suck it!

I know there are a ridiculous amount of threads on this LSU issue ... and I actually read through a couple and didn't see answers to these questions.

1. Can we all agree it clearly isn't a money issue? Whether it's NIL $$$ or NFL roster $$$, cash is cash.

2. It's not an age thing. Trinidad is on I think his 6th year. Saints QB Tyler Shough played for about 7 college seasons. And Max Johnson who played QB for LSU several decades ago is like Blue from Old School.

3. It's not a Pandora's Box thing. This isn't going to open the floodgates for people like Peyton Manning to come back for a 5th year. This is confined to a single set of players - those who graduated high school in 2022.

4. The only thing left is that these guys participated in NFL OTA's, a training camp (for which they didn't impress much because they got cut) and a couple of preseason games. Is it that they were exposed to some super secret sauce that somehow gives them a competitive advantage over other college football players?

Other than that,

Honestly, it's just the entire SEC is terrified of LSU. Everyone obviously saw the dominance of Nick Saban at Bama, and the dominance Kirby has had at UGA, but this is different. We know that LSU is set to go on a run of 10 straight national championships in both football and basketball so the only way to stop them is to set LSU up for a fall and kick them out of the SEC. There were calls to NFL players who played for our teams to tell them to reach out to Lane Kiffin about coming back to college, I think Pete Golding himself lined up the Baton Rouge judge through his Louisiana connections, then the SEC had nick saban ask pat mcafee to interview kiffin and bribe him to talk about how the SEC should honor these TROs.

This was all meant to be hush hush and discrete, but the intelligence of the LSU faithful was quick to realize the setup. Now we're all just being defensive.

I thought that the 5-5 would only be for the class of 2022, so all classes after this would be cut and dry. You have 5 years to play and that's it. This is the one off.

All LSU is asking for is a small competitive advantage over other SEC teams. All they are asking for is a roster of bad NFL players. It isn’t like they are asking for a team of All-Pros.

Can Someone Explain

College sports, and particularly the NCAA, have been carpet-bombed. All 4 Power 4 conferences have taken the SEC position. We are the only ones left to deal with the problem child. Even the NFL has expressed its indignation by refusing to let these NFL vagabonds re-enter.

This one feels, looks, and smells different. LSU is trying to crawl over the SEC University presidents and a conference commissioner. This one is about as personal as it will get in that great struggle to regulate selfishness.

Bama did this exact thing last year in basketball.

Maybe the Alabama judge that granted a TRO for Bediako to play for Nate Oats and Alabama last year. Let’s ask him.

I am not a huge fan of what is going on with all of this, but if this was just about any other coach (especially not an LSU coach) no one would care.

If this was Arkansas or Kentucky everyone would be saying " They need all the help they can get, let them have the NFL rejects." This is a Lane Kiffin / LSU thing

If you think the 5-5 thing is just a "one off" you are being willfully naive. As long as there are lawyers and coaches that are willing to challenge everything, there will be no "one offs."

So Lane found a loophole and exploited it. He's not exactly the first to have found a loophole. Dan Lanning has a history of it with Oregon. Chip Kelly did the same both in college and the pros. Bill Belichick is probably the standard bearer.

What has gotten everyone's panties in a wad is that it is the Darth Vader of football. Like many have said, others are doing it and no one is bitching.

This is a fair point, but it appeared the NCAA was trying to make it so we would not have this issue in the future.

I think everyone would agree that you have to start somewhere and the 5-5 was the best answer the NCAA could come up with.
