I know aTm balked, but I wouldn't think that'd blow up the deal. If I recall the UTa/OU folks were about it and I'm sure the other schools would've fell in line....

I have a friend of a friend who is a major donor/billionaire.
When UT/OU to the SEC kicked off, some higher-ups discussed moving to the Big10. It was not a serious consideration but it was discussed....

Idk anything about Greg Davis, but I think a lot of spread systems got lazy with trying to use 1v1 in the flats on a CB as if defenses didn't get wise to it with OLB/S/Nickel support. Everyone runs a nickel now it seems like.
The Air Raid guys like Leach/Dykes, and Heupel for us now, at least try...

He came in hot with strong coaches & back office. Also, seemed to change them to hard-nosed culture for a minute.
All that went away and he kept getting 10 million a year. He also seemed out of place with the atm coach like a mercenary....
