Prosecution would have to prove beyond reasonable doubt that Miller knew of others’ intent to use the gun to commit crime. Even if they have evidence he read the text before delivering the gun, that’s a high burden of proof to overcome.

This is the part that gets lost, not only would law enforcement have to show he knew intent, they would have to show that he knew intent of someone he didn't even communicate with. The person Miller received the text from wasn't the person that pulled the trigger. There's no way for Miller to know the intent of someone he didn't communicate with.

While I don't disagree, if Miller was just a student, UAT would have nothing at stake to protect Miller's legal rights.

But he is good at shooty hoops, so...

You can continue to defend that thug piece of shite, but the guy brought a loaded weapon to his hot headed thug friend that he hung out with all the time.

The 5 yr old kid will be a grown man one day and will ask why Alabama played the guy that brought the gun that killed his mom instead of prosecuting him.

I guess the DA/ADA will have to explain that to him, huh?

It’s clear that Miller didn’t believe Miles was going to use the weapon, and he was correct. Tragically, he didn’t bank on Miles being stupid enough to give it to someone else.

Excellent points.

Glad that’s settled.

You don’t have to believe a bad outcome will happen in order to be grossly negligent. The bad outcome just has to be reasonably foreseeable.

Hold gun manufacturers responsible for all shootings/murders with their guns. They were manufactured to shoot and kill people with.

Pretty sad that’s how you think.

We are talking about murder, death, lives lost, and you dismiss it. Bama fans ladies and gents.

I don't disagree with you on that, but that is just how our world works. Certain people get more privileges than other because of their value.

Outside of Bama homers, this is the worst take I’ve seen on the situation.

Imagine an actual lawyer and the voice of college basketball disagreeing with the rant mob. Oh, the indignity of it all.

And Black just got beat again by Brandon Miller. Oh, the inhumanity of it all.

What rights was Bilas talking about that Alabama has a duty to protect?

Lol. He was there and provided the weapon. Deflect, deflect, deflect

Upon Miller’s arrival, Miles retrieved the gun from Miller’s backseat and handed it to Davis, who soon began shooting into a Jeep containing Harris, according to police. She was struck and killed.

You aren't that bright, are you? Let's start with Brandon Miller. We could end with even yours. Isn't America cool?

This is incorrect. He doesn’t have to know that there’s even a third party. It just need to be shown he was transporting the gun knowingly for criminal purposes.
