But Tech is a better program than 1/3 of the SEC and on par with the middle of the SEC.

Are UGA fans trolling in this thread or they really believe all this crap they are typing? I’m confused with what they are arguing. If Arkansas and UGA switched places the last 10 years, UGA wouldn’t even make the Conference Championship, and Arkansas would probably represent the East at least 3 times easy.

Lol. Aren't you an LSU tiger fan?
When the frick does a tiger fan go back to 1970 for anything. Hell... doesn't Tech argue that they have a national championship in that timeline? How many SEC teams don't have a national championship since 1970 (or 1990 for that matter).
Teams that don't have a winning record over GT since 2000:
Miss St (0-3)
Kentucky (0-1)
Auburn (0-2)
Vandy (0-4)
Florida has a .500 win percentage going back to your 1970 (no games played since 1990).
Scar has a .500 win percentage since 1990.
A .538 win percentage since 1970 (no games since 2000).
Teams with a winning record against GT since 2000.
LSU 2-0
Ole Miss 2-0
Tenn 1-0
As I said... GT has an orange bowl win during the BCS era.
How many SEC teams have a bcs bowl or playoff win?
Tech is an equivalent program to a mid level SEC team (and is better than the bottom third).

And you are very proud of that number. Lol
How many ADs did it take to get that 6?

Beating the best MSU team is like beating the tallest midget in basketball. Not a super impressive feat
No shite.
The same for UGA beating the snot out of Tennessee and Auburn the past 20 years.
Beating the snot out of Vandy, Ole Miss, Miss St, Arkansas, Texas A&M, Mizzou, south carolina and Kentucky.

That’s the number of times Ga Texh has beat y’all since 91 dipshit.

I thought it was the number of times LSU has scheduled 2 P5 OOC games.
Too bad.

ESPN has the SEC by the contractual balls because of the dope 'running' the SEC ! Sankey and his crack staff signed off on a contract which did not include ANY contingency clauses...i.e. what if the conference expands with a number of power-house schools ! HOW the SEC schools did not notice this major screw-up is beyond me. Sankey is dumber than a bag of hammers...one screw-up after another !

quote:No they're not. 32-75 doesn't lie. How far back do you want to go? Tech's been awful. And stop throwing out that one BCS win over Mississippi St because more often than not Miss St. would've beat Ga Tech on a neutral field.
Tech is an equivalent program to a mid level SEC team (and is better than the bottom third).
The truth of the matter is that Ga Tech knows they made a huge mistake in 1964 when they left the SEC. Now they're stuck in the ACC where nobody wants them.

I hear you but the answer is more mandated tough games. Playing only 8 allows the situation you are describing to happen. I’m disappointed in our out of conference schedule

What did Butch Jones do to UGA? Not hard to beat UT when we have hired the 4 worst coaches in history of the sport. Kiffin, Butch Jones, Dooley, and Pruitt. UGA is thankful for UT being incompetent for the better part of the last 20 years from an administration stand point from the president to the AD. UGA days are numbered once UT builds back it’s program to where it was before Fulmer retired.
UGA only has 1 more all time win than UT and it took the worse 15 years stretch for UT, and UGA best in school history to finally catch UT in wins.

Thanks for confirming that GT is on par with the Vols football program.
You both have one Orange Bowl victory in the past 20 seasons.
You both have 1 top 10 finish in the past 20 seasons.

LSU has never started a statistic with "going back to 1970".
That is hilarious.
Tech has a winning record over more teams since 2000 in the SEC than a losing record.
Tech is a mid-level SEC opponent.
They claim a more recent national championship than the bottom 2/3 of the SEC.
They claim a more recent BCS bowl win/playoff win than most SEC teams.
The fact that you struggle with reality is funny: half of the SEC teams are literally below average. Only 4 SEC teams had a winning record in 2022. And that is not uncommon in the conference.
We are a conference full of mediocrity (Tennessee, auburn, Florida are all part of the big 6. A&M, South Carolina, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Miss St, Arkansas, Vandy and Mizzou are no different).

Great theory if you ignore ESPN refusing to pay for 9 games, which is the far simpler explanation for sticking with 8 games

UGA was one of the “bottom dwellers” wanting 8 too lol

Mizzou wants 9 games you thick hillbilly.

Because unlike most of the SEC (including A&M), they play 2 P5 OOC annually.

The argument for an eight-game model which features one permanent rival and seven rotating opponents has gained traction.
Arkansas, Missouri, South Carolina and Mississippi State are reportedly against the nine-game model. Vanderbilt probably is, too. Tennessee? Ole Miss? Who knows?
Bryan Terry/USA Today Network
The Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners will join the SEC on July 1, 2024.
Surprisingly, Alabama reportedly favors the eight-game model. That’s odd because as recently as last year’s spring meetings, Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban advocated for a nine-game conference schedule.
“I think one of the more difficult things in going to nine games is we’ve tried to schedule two out-of-conference Power 5 games to improve our strength of schedule over the next seven, eight, nine, 10 years,” Saban said. “If we go to nine games, we’ll have to unwind that. My deal was always, let’s play more SEC games because we couldn’t get other people to schedule. Now, I think there’s more people in tune to scheduling.”
Applaud Saban for wanting to honor commitments to future opponents. Except that Saban has also complained about LSU, Tennessee and Auburn being Alabama’s about three permanent opponents in the nine-game model.
