BYU is a P5 and Michigan canceled their series and Covid moved Notre Dame.

Stop being a dumbass.

Melt day 1,765 for you over everything Arkansas.

Rub one out to Paul Finebaum or something. Our legs are getting raw from your constant leg humping.

What a joke.
this whining absolutely is coming from a fan of a school whose only historical rival is Tulane.

some of us actually have a P5 in-state rival we've played yearly for over a century to go along with 8 SEC games.

we also schedule a 10th P5 game regularly.

the 8/9 schedule debate is rooted in tv contract $$$ - if the $$$ increases with a 9th game inventory - not just accounts for current compensation levels - then all 14 or soon to be 16 will move to a 9 game schedule.

You literally don't know how any of it works. Do you?

I do in Athens.

Obviously not.
The game was canceled 8 months ago.
Whomever we schedule either needed a bye week or a shitload of money to buy out of their already scheduled opponent for week 1 of the 2023 college football season.

Saban and Bama are the ones driving this.

Of those listed...at least South Carolina and Kentucky have a P-5 OOC game every year from an in-state rival. Not sure what the excuse for the other 3 would be.

And yet you came to the SEC anyway. Sounds like a case of reaping what you sow.

SC has North Carolina and Clemson this year and you want to add a 9 game SEC schedule on top of that? Until every SEC team has a similar schedule set-up you'll always get teams that don't think it's a fair split.

I thought Florida (FSU, Miami) was for having the nine game SEC schedule - though admittedly I'm basing that on mostly not hearing that they were against it.

I actually think it’s that ESPN has us by the balls and won’t pay any more. You tack on 12% more money to each school and even the bottom dwellers would sign on.

Seriously even though a 9 game schedule is best for everyone, there's no reason to bend over and give to Espn for free while simultaneously loosing the income of a home game every other year.

At worst if we go to 9 conference games that extra game should go to market for the conference. Let Espn only get 4 conference home games per school

False

I still haven't seen a legitimate argument why espn should pay more.

Since UFail doesn’t want to play anyone instate besides USF, FAU, and FIU, they’re desperate to weasel out of the Governor’s cup game just like how they weaseled out of playing Miami every year.

Truly a cowardly program and school.

There is a reason why FSU and Miami have mutual respect despite our rivalry while we both despise and ridicule the lowly Gates

Supposedly we do which is retarded considering we're playing 3 P5 OOC next year.

Uhhhmmm, They already got a freebe with a serious inventory upgrade with the addition of two blue bloods. You don't think Texas and Oklahoma wouldn't have made the last renegotiation more lucrative if they were added before? ESPN was in euphoria just to pay even money to add them. A ninth conference is more and better inventory to choose from and they would get that totally for free while all the schools would actually loose money by loosing .5 home games.

Trying to weasel out of playing Miami and UCF since you’re scared of them

Uhhhmmm. No.
The contract stipulated that there was no renegotiation in terms of financial incentive to each team (the pot went up from ESPN. But no more than to make sure that all 16 teams saw no reduction in funds from the TV deal).
It was already in the previous negotiation. There is no freebie when it is already addressed that espn would pay a specific amount more.

See above.
Adding OU and UT was a power play to keep them out of the big X. Espn knew we were adding teams. The BigXII was an obvious target.

How and why is it better inventory?
Just because you say so?
Just because people parrot it?
Why?

Looks like Mizzou is only playing 1 P5 OOC in 2024 and 2025.

Drink was pissed about the teams the prior staff scheduled. Called them out for terrible OOC. I think it gets forgotten how far in advance these are scheduled out.

When was the last time y'all actually scheduled 2 ooc p-5 teams ? I do commend y'all for going 2 this year, but I would argue that this is the exception and not the rule.

You had plenty of time to offer another Power 5 school a neutral site game. All they would have to do is drop one of their directional schools and sign up.

Offers require accepting. Not many teams have openings so close to a season.
