It's not just the money, apparently the bottom dwellers (Mizzou, Vandy, South Carolina, Arkansas, Kentucky) are voting against a 9 game because they don't want to give away an easy non-conference W to get to 6 wins.

What a joke.

It sounds like you are calling 1/3 of the SEC an easy win.

Kind of ironic.

OR... hang with me here. We understand financial issues better than some broke arse schools (not mentioning any names) And realize you are going to lose home games in that scenario. This may seem wierd but making less money over a 10 year period is not ideal if you can make more. And dont come at me with the tv contract because we gonna get that regardless.

I actually think it’s that ESPN has us by the balls and won’t pay any more. You tack on 12% more money to each school and even the bottom dwellers would sign on.

I also think it’s Alabama’s fault too because all of a sudden playing their two rivals plus LSU every year is just unfair.

Can you really blame them? All of those schools struggle to make bowl games so they aren’t going to voluntarily play an extra SEC game.

Everything I have read has Mizzou in favor of a 9 game schedule, no idea what you are spewing.

He’s very pro 9 games. He reiterated that Saturday on tv.

SC has North Carolina and Clemson this year and you want to add a 9 game SEC schedule on top of that? Until every SEC team has a similar schedule set-up you'll always get teams that don't think it's a fair split.

Which is why we should stay at 8 until the rest of the SEC nuts up and schedules 2 P5 OOC annually like UF/UGA/SCar are doing.

The more teams we get in bowls the more money we all get to split. But I don’t care one way or another.

SEC fans are idiots.

They complain about conference scheduling and then beg for more conference scheduling.

They want to play each team more often and then get excited about adding more teams to the league.

They complain about cupcakes and then publicly call out 1/3 of the conference as cupcakes.

LSU is not historically one of Bama’s rivals. The history of football didn’t start within the last 20 years. Y’all think way more of yourselves than we do.
Your hate for all things crimson is not proportional to your relevance. Sorry.

Yep, LSU fans also think our game is some kind of historically rivalry.

Mizzou is very publicly in favor of nine-games. In fact, here's Coach Drink on the matter today:

quote:

“I think commissioner Sankey makes a good point, we’d be the only Power 5 conference with an eight-game schedule. I don’t think that’s a good look for our conference.”

Who cares if you go 8-4 instead of 7-5 with the difference being an actual good team instead of drumming Mercer for the 8th win

They wonder why attendance is down, bc it’s expensive as frick to go to games and no I’m not sitting in a 300 degree stadium in early September to watch us play a scrub team.

Gotta make it worthwhile for the fans to show up
