Why should we care about what's a "good look" or not? Lions don't concern themselves with the opinions of sheep.

Quality P5 OOC opponents would be better for everyone involved.

Ironically, OOC scheduling is the only scheduling each team and each AD has control over.

My guess is that ESPN will be putting their thumb down on the ADs more-so than the conference commissioner.

Which is why we should stay at 8 until the rest of the SEC nuts up and schedules 2 P5 OOC annually like UF/UGA/SCar are doing.

Exactly. It's insane that they don't grasp this fact.

Objective proof Mizzou is not a bottom dweller. We ain’t scared! We are a middle class program always have been. Always will be. Suck it.

You're an Ole Miss fan, why is this an acceptable OOC schedule?

It's more likely the upper tier does not want to give up that late season cupcake.

I don't see the issue for Ole Miss there. Wake Forest series was scheduled like 10 years ago. Plus they were 8-5 last year and improved a good bit over the past several years. They won 11 games two seasons ago. Furman is something most P5 programs do. GA Southern will probably be more competitive than Georgia Tech would have been. MTSU won 8 games last year. You have one P5 opponent, two FBS opponents, and an FCS school.

Why isn't Ole Miss doing 2 P5 OOC like other SEC schools? SCar can do it, they don't have an excuse.

Looks like Mizzou is only playing 1 P5 OOC in 2024 and 2025.

It isn’t. Not sure I’d go to any of those games.

I want the big name teams. Like I said . Whoop dee do we go 8-4 and beat furman instead of 7-5 losing to a Baylor or iowa state

It makes no difference except it’s a better game for the fans to travel to

And why should we not take advantage of the rules as written?

That's fine, but you're throwing stones at other schools for supposedly being cowards when y'all are doing the same thing.

Oklahoma fans have been told for years that there are no cupcakes in the SEC. Just SEC speed.

It will be an 8 game schedule for two years that maintain AU-UGA and Bama-UT. Then we switch to 9 games with more TV $$$$$$$$

This all day, and someone more difficult then wake forest. Alabama never scheduled two either, and the one year Georgia had to drop one because of realignment, “oh god”. SEC fans are morons.

My bama/vandy grad boss and I discussed this recently. We thought it would make sense if the league had a requirement for schools to schedule OOC opponents that reach a certain quantified quality. For instance, the schools are free to schedule their own OOC schedules in advanced but within a set timeframe, and their opponents have to meet a certain threshold of quality based off the opponents last 10 year record according to the schedule quality, etc. one OOC P5 team has to reach a specific threshold, then after that a cumulative threshold has to be met for all OOC opponents together. This way we can ensure schedules are balanced and of good quality.

No stones involved. Just pointing out that it's possible to want a 9 game schedule while still taking advantage of the current set up.
