Imo Napier has a higher ceiling than Kelley, but also a lower floor.

you say this because you are praying that Napier doesn't show how stupid your AD was for not hiring him.

. He brings stability in coaching staff and great organizational skills. LSU recruits itself with the kids and families being extremely loyal to Louisiana (dumb people of the Rant are making too big of a deal of the “cultural fit”.)
I do not see the issue with cultural fit as a top tier program that wants to win that is not an issue. The fit I do not see though is yes LA kids go to LSU for the most part but for LSU to be a contender it needs to able to recruit throughout the southeast. Kelly does not have those connections. That is where I do not see the fit. But if Kelly can bring in a staff that can recruit the SEC area it will work out.
Napier in my opinion is a better hire on the recruiting front because he has connections and understands the layout. He has been recruiting the area for a long time now.
In the end I think it will come down to how well they staff the program under them.

Billy Napier might end up being better than the rest of the hires.

Wrong, dude is good. Hide and watch.

Time will tell won't it?
Napier has won the same number of D1 national titles as Kelly. Just sayin'

This thread is nonsense. Billy Napier is highly regarded as one of the best young coaching candidates available. He was basically offered the Auburn and USC jobs last year but held out. Dude is a relentless recruiter…Tommy Bowden calls him a pitbull on the trail. Already being reported that he has strict demands out of the university to better support recruiting budgets/analyst etc. He’s a CEO mindset coach, which the program needs.
My big concern with Billy are his average offenses. He’s going to need to bring in some good Coordinators around him. But don’t let the other big moves make this move seem less significant.

I like the hire. Think he is a quality, up and coming talent. Time will tell.

You guys are going to have to figure out how to beat The MS boys before you’d play UGA again. I think we’re off the rotation for a while. I like Georgia’s chances now that O the overlord is gone.

Chip kelly never coached at ND...

Napier was a solid hire. If Florida will give him time he could be a guy that’s there for 15 years.

Napier is a good hire and would widely be regarded as a very good move in a normal year where schools weren't going for broke to land big names.

USC and LSU are given but Washington had a better hire too. OU and ND are definitely goin to trump that hire
Maybe we should wait and see how they turn out before making proclamations. I actually think in the long run Florida got the best hire. We'll have to see.

On the surface, this hire has casual UF fans asking "who is this?"
However, he has learned from the best in Saban and Dabo. He looks like he was able to apply that at UL.
Can he apply what he has learned at UF? Can compete with Saban, Dabo, and Kirby for recruits?

I haven't seen a hire this universally accepted at UF since Meyer.

You’d rather have a guy that’s been a head coach in the sun belt for a few years than the winningest coach in Notre Dame history? That’s pretty stupid man
Tell me. You've felt this way for a month right?

What he did at ULL is a good sign, no doubt. Florida is a whole different animal with a whole lot more pressure.
(Look at Mullen) Looked like a great hire at a place that indicated he was ready.....but he obviously was not. While Napier is not a slam dunk, he would have definitely been my choice for my school.
Going out on a limb, but I think Florida did well with their choice. He will save a little money and has huge upside to boot. He will/should bring a new energy and excitement to Florida.
