I'll probably always roll with 95 Nebraska because they annihilated an incredibly good UF team.

2019 LSU. Do some research. Its a valid claim.

Greeny is the short name of the ESPN announcer who said the clip on SportsCenter the day after we won the national championship. You saw the clip of him saying those facts and came here, but you copied them nearly verbatim. I also just watched that clip recently which is why I remembered.

The unbiased answer is the 95 Cornhuskers. I grew up in Missouri an hour from Omaha and believe me I hate those motherfrickers more then any other team but that team was simply the most dominate team in CFB history. LSU played more top 10 teams sure and beat them by an average of 10.42 points. That team is my choice for the 2nd best team. But Nebraska in 95 played 4 top 10 teams and beat them by an average of 30.75 each including a 62-24 destruction of the #2 Team Florida in the Fiesta Bowl. LSU averaged more points sure but it was a different era but that LSU team was pushed by many teams. Nebraska simply steamrolled EVERYONE.

I want to say 2019 LSU, but you're obviously just looking for someone to dick ride your team.
So I'll go with 1995 Nebraska. Absolutely dominating.
Shutting their folks up the next year was so much fun. Whooped ASU's arse 77-28. Then we blanked 'em 19-0 in the follow up.

Yeppers. Been a fan for many decades. Just glad we didn't have all this transfer portal and nil crap during most of it. Imagine being a young fan and having to deal with the current state of college football. No Keith Jackson yelling woah Nellie. players staying all four years at the same school.

2020 Bama
=========
- 13-0 against an all Power 5 schedule
- 11-0 against SEC teams (only time in history)
- 3-0 against teams that finished in the top 5 of both major polls
- Highest SP+ Power rating of any college team in history
- Highest FPI rating of any college team in the 20 years it’s been in existence
- Never trailed in the 4th quarter all season
- Did not trail at any point during the final 37 quarters of the 2020 season (longest streak since 1947)
- Won every game but one by 15+ points
- First team to score 40 points against a major conference opponent 11 times since 1969
- First team with 5 consensus All-Americans on offense since 1965; 4 of those were unanimous
- 1 unanimous All-American on defense
- 5 All-SEC 1st team players on offense, 3 on defense
- 3 of top 5 players in Heisman voting (first since 1946)
- Best 3rd down conversion rate on record since 2000
- Most points for a kicker without missing a FG or PAT since 1937
- Najee Harris & Devonta Smith became the first teammates in FBS history to each score 25 touchdowns in a season
- Defense finished seventh in the nation in Defensive Efficiency Rankings
- Player Awards: Heisman, Maxwell, Walter Camp, Biletnikoff, Hornung, AP POY, SEC Offensive & Defensive POY, Davey O’Brien, Johnny Unitas, Doak Walker, Outland, Rimington, Joe Moore, Jacobs Blocking Trophy, Rubio Long Snapping, & SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year
- Coach Awards: Broyles, Paul (Bear) Bryant, SEC Coach of the Year
…but personally, ‘95 Nebraska and ‘71 Nebraska were probably the best two teams I’ve seen…

2019 LSU.
And they didn't need a global pandemic to limit games, fans, and rosters to do it.
This. 2020 Bama was a really good team, but given the situation where they faced so many teams with depleted rosters it's difficult to give them full credit.
I will give full credit to Saban for holding that team together. Bama had almost losses from the pandemic fear mongering.

. . . the game has changed enough times that across eras it can’t be compared.
A given.
Players from other eras were not developed to the point where they are today and the statistics don't exactly match up due to changes in the rules, increased number of games.
At the same time we marvel at a player like Travis Hunter because he played offense and defense when it was the standard in the past. How well would the superior players of today fare doing that?
To declare a team the best is not saying it would defeat every team from every era.
The Oklahoma teams that won 47 straight, the 1969 Texas team, Barry Switzer's 39-0-1 start as a head coach, the 90's Miami and Nebraska teams, all were dominant.
They were all the best when it counted.

2020 Bama will always have a small asterisk to me.
Covid year.
Ohio State played like 6 games and went to the playoffs.
Hell even A&M finished top 5 to show you how weird that year was.
I don't thinknyou can compare 2020 Bama to any other year there was too much atypical to the entire world its just kind of in its own world

Why does anyone try to have a conversation about something that can be disputed. It’s 2019 but i do like how this hits Bama fans soooo hard and they cry and think one of their teams is in the conversation LOL

2001 Florida Gators
Took the worst terrorist attack in American history, Darnel Docket maliciously injuring Ernest Graham after a play, and a good helping of the typical AGB by the SEC, the cowards at Tenn, and the polls to prevent us from crushing Miami that year.
