Serious question.

I’m hearing the ND QB was brought in to start because the young kid is not ready.

And I’ve heard the ND QB was brought in to push the young kid.

Could be both?

With all due respect

That is not a serious answer.

I'll believe Bama can't function at a national contender level with even a mediocre QB when I see it.

Bama scored more points against Arkansas and Texas A&M with Milroe than LSU did with Daniels, so there is that.

Milroe also went 2-0, instead of 1-1.

The decline is real. Now measuring success by comparing our games vs A&M.

Pathetic

No one knows who will be the guy. Too many names and a new OC combined with deemphasizing the spread passing Bryce Young offense means anything could happen.

Milroe is the most explosive runner I’ve ever seen take snaps at QB in Tuscaloosa and has a cannon arm, but his accuracy and ability to process the defense are major issues. He could be Lamar Jackson or Emory Jones… TBD.

Simpson showed flashes in the spring game but broke his finger early and didn’t look quite right afterwards. He was a 5* recruit with some major physical tools and is still young so writing him off is laughable. He’s also pretty mobile for a taller QB who is definitely not afraid to make plays with his legs. I think he ends the year as the starter.

Buchner is the ND transfer and looked like he had upside as a highly mobile QB who still needs to demonstrate he can process the field and avoid ints in his limited playtime to date. He’s already familiar with the OC which gives him an advantage IMO.

Lonergan is a TF out of GA and wasn’t highly rated but he looked like the real deal in camp according to some insiders. Not sure he’s ready now but he will start at Bama or elsewhere before his career is done IMO.

Eli Holstein is another TF out of LA, haven’t heard as much about him, TBD.

I don’t think any of the guys are ready to play at a Tua/Mac/Bryce level right now but Simpson and some others have plenty of potential. It’s all TBD until we see who can handle the big stage against Texas.

Live in the same town where Eli went to High School. He is an incredibly hard worker and eats\sleeps\shits football. Loves watching film and being coached. He has the tools to be a good one. I wouldn’t be surprised if he is the starter somewhere one day. He isn’t patient so he might not stick around T-Town 2-3 years if he isn’t running with the 1’s.

By that token, LSU scored more vs both Mississippi schools than Alabama managed with a Heisman winner/#1 overall pick.

Sweet. What are his odds of starting for us next year?

I’ve heard this is the guy.

He’s got a long line of coaches in his family.
