Tbh no one really knows. Buchner coming in threw a lot of preconceived thoughts out the window. The fall camp will tell us a lot more about who is ahead in the pecking order.

Expecting anything serious on the rant is like expecting a honest politician to lead the country.

Saban’s Alabama has won championships with multiple QBs under multiple coordinators. Trotting out an ineffective offense would be a first. So I don’t expect to see it regardless of who wins the job.

Why? Because you drew all your conclusions from a spring game?

It won't matter too much. Whoever is the starter will be winning a lot of games. It's Bama, they've got 5 stars stacked all over. Can they beat a prime Georgia? Maybe, maybe not as they both have questions at the QB position. I think by the end of the year the question will be answered. I wouldn't crow about the Bama QB room just yet.

Buchner didn't transfer to become a depth piece. I think he will be the starter in Week 1. That's not to say he won't lose the job to Milroe or Simpson at some point.

Live in the same town where Eli went to High School. He is an incredibly hard worker and eats\sleeps\shits football. Loves watching film and being coached. He has the tools to be a good one. I wouldn’t be surprised if he is the starter somewhere one day. He isn’t patient so he might not stick around T-Town 2-3 years if he isn’t running with the 1’s.

Lots of names but no one is the “guy” so the window is open IMO.

Love to hear he’s a “live the game guy”, they tend to do well under Saban…

How would you describe his game?
Any comparisons?

Anytime you bring in a QB after spring it’s a bad sign.

LSU scored more points against Alabama than Alabama did against LSU with Bryce Young.

LSU was 1-0 against Bama
Bama was 0-1 against LSU
…with Bryce Young

And everybody in the stadium knows who he is throwing to.

Oh believe me I know. I was apoplectic watching him eat safety blitzes all day at A-Day.

If he gets it figured out between the ears he has NFL star potential but he has miles to go right now.

Closest comparison I can think of is a shorter Anthony Richardson.

I'll believe Bama can't function at a national contender level with even a mediocre QB when I see it.

You lost multiple games last year with a Heisman winner at QB

Thank you tide06

You go to the top of the list of bama fans

Below Herman Frisco

The rich get richer, it’s a good problem to have too many good QB’s

If you don’t have good QB’s transferring away from your program

You’re not doing it right.

I feel like LSU is getting to that point.

You really think I watched your spring game?

It was not a serious answer

Because I could say everyone on the LSU roster is a “solid player”

But tide06 came back with one of the best explanations ever on this board

I thank him for that.
