That is why it is important to develop pitching depth during the season. You have 26 OOC games along with 30 conference games to do so. It is imperative to give those young pitchers and others opportunities to pitch so that when the regionals come about, you are prepared if you lose an early game.

Auburn has used 15 pitchers on the year. They used 14 pitchers for the regional. (1 is injured). They won the regional because of their pitching depth. 4 pitchers threw over 100 pitches total for the regional with the highest being 113.

How did 90% of the posters in this thread miss the “around the country” part of his statement?

Never mind

Milwaukee had a guy pitch Monday that threw 90 pitches on Saturday. It’s not good for the players.

Then the Milwaukee coach should have pitched someone else. He had other options.

Why do the rules always adversely affect Auburn? No one else. Just Auburn.

Someone might want to inform him it's the exact same format once he gets to Omaha

Yep.

Example A of why I only come around here for baseball post season. After a while you can already read the threads without even opening them

Win in 3 games not 5. It is part of it.

Only thing I do not like about the format is host teams and higher seeds should be the home team in any elimination game.

This is an example of going with the crowd. The first few replies got it completely wrong and everyone else is just jumping off the cliff with them. No one listened to what he actually said. Saw a headline, made an assumption and ran with it. I am blown away away by the lack of critical thinking skills here.

I don't know any team in the country that could play 5 games in 4 days without having to stretch guys 100+ pitches or multiple appearances.... or use arms you don't want to use. Hard to develop 12 arms you trust with your season on the line. Several teams were in the same position as Auburn this weekend. Some teams like Troy and Auburn found a way, but other teams like Florida and Milwaukee seemed to run out of pitching.
