you know that Notre Dame has higher admissions standards than most SEC schools? I am pretty sure Kelly’s mentioned limitations at Notre Dame was that he wasn’t able to recruit and get the same guys Saban was. There were recruiting articles on this subject.
Kelly was right bc he’s recruited better at LSU than he did at ND, but at the same time, Freeman has been able to out recruit what Kelly could do at ND.

So now we'll able to see if Freeman has actually been able to get enough talent to play with the elite teams.
Ohio State is obviously not as good as 2020 Bama or 2018 Clemson but they're probably the closest thing we have this year.

ND losing to Ohio State doesn’t diminish the fact that Freeman has had more success than Kelly. You’re clinging to 2012, the same season Kelly trailed 28-0 in a national title game.
Kelly’s incompetence in big games doesn’t mean ND can’t win big games. Freeman is proving that.

Kelly will not win a championship in 10 days after getting away from ND so him and you his greatest autistic defender will both be wrong.

Freeman is an all around better coach than Kelly, a Sugar Bowl champion unlike Kelly, an Orange Bowl champion unlike Kelly, 3-0 in the CFP (Kelly doesnt even have 1 win) only 38 (Kelly will be 64 next season lol) innovative, has momentum and is a breath of fresh air, plus a better recruiter.

LSU has won 3 natties this century, Notre Dame hasn't won one in 40 years.
Perhaps that's because Notre Dame isn't signing the talent required to win a natty as Kelly suggested, perhaps he's the problem.
We'll find out in 10 days.

Here come the LSU fans to attack Freeman in order to prop up Brian Kelly. It’s a sad day for LSU.
One program has 3 NC's and should be 4 since 2003 just in football.
The other program has zero NC's since 1989.
It's not a sad day for LSU. We still run college baseball and football

This thread is as pathetic as the Mizzou, the big 10 killer, calling for recruits thread from earlier today.

He didn’t build nothing - he took over a Top 10 program. He has continued it. He came through weak side of playoff bracket. UGA without Beck ain’t UGA. Penn State is what Penn State has been good, but not great and Franklin can’t win anything big - 1-15 vs Top 5.

I haven’t piled on Kelly once but this is a little disingenuous which LSU fans often do which is manipulate things to prove a point. Marcus Freeman has won 3 playoff games to reach the champ game. And I may be mistaken but think they were the underdog against Georgia and Pen. State. He has proven that he has indeed taken ND to new heights whether they beat Ohio State or not. Ohio state has the highest payroll in CFB this season.

We've been told this is a "different" Notre Dame team.
Ohio State opened as a 9.5 or 10 point favorite, depending on the sportsbook. The only national championship with a larger spread was Georgia-TCU.
Go make some money, baws.
Frankly, Notre Dame is right where they were in 2012. When dead girlfriends were just a twinkle in Manti Teo's eyes.
What could go wrong?

Kelly is the winningest coach in ND history MORON! The only thing asinine is your posting on this board!!!
You know he’s also the losingest coach in ND history, too? Did you know that?
He has that “honor” because Swarbrick retained him and he played a lot more games than Rockne, Leahy, Parseghian, Holtz, etc.

quote:Nah. They just needed college football to change drastically. The invention of NIL and the portal has helped level the playing field.
The last week proves Kelly was the problem. Notre Dame can compete for a title. They just needed a better coach. One who doesn’t choke in big games.

He’s young, he’s talented, he’s humble, he’s not Brian Kelly.
Oh and he didn’t kill a guy.
What more do you want?

I felt more confident about an OSU win before tonight.
tOSU last night is what they've been all season. When they face a good defense they either struggle to put the other team away or lose.
Of course we were also what we've been all season, but the Suckeyes had too many elite athletes to allow us to overcome our mistakes.

Kelly’s Championship Game History
2013 BCS Championship Game: Alabama 42 Notre Dame 14
Kelly’s Playoff Game History
2018 Cotton Bowl Semi Final Game: Clemson 30 Notre Dame 3
2021 Rose Bowl Semi Final Game: Alabama 31 Notre Dame 14
It will be interesting to see if Notre Dame can score more than 14 points and hold OSU to less than 30 points.
