Jarvis, Seidl, Pinckney, Williamson, Tamez, Shelton, Rose, Johnson........nope, regular lineup.

Quick and Davis out of the pen - standard over the last 2-3 weeks.

Can't imagine all of this is just based on McMillan starting instead of Holman. That would be, frankly, insane. Unless Bo himself was telling people this beforehand or betting on his own. Obviously that would take a small thing and make it much bigger.

Yeah maybe there was a pattern that was picked up from the past and the sites pulled the trigger this time knowing exactly what the outcome would be eventually.

So reading what happened, two large bets were placed at Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati on LSU. Bama almost won the game so I dont think anyone was throwing it but someone with inside information placed the bets.

I watched that game.

LSU pitched Skenes, who will be national pitcher of the year. It didn't really matter who Bama started opposite him, LSU was going to be favored.

And LSU was up 8-2 going into the 9th. And still up 8-2 with 2 outs. They even had 2 strikes on the batter, after getting the first two outs on strikeouts. Bama then scored 4 runs to make it way closer than it should have been, and if I remember right, they got 2 strikes on every batter during that run.

I hate to even say or type this out, but if you were to tell me there was anything fricky going on for gambling in that game, I'd have said it was LSU late that would have been raising flags.

Someone needs to check Byrne's bank transactions. Even odds he made a suspicious bet in Bohannon's name to get a for cause termination rolling.

IF this is true, Bohannon's a grade A dumbass.
Fired with cause - pack his shite in a box and escort his arse to the parking lot.

Alabama athletics is nothing but gambling and murder. If Saban were smart he'd quit his job and start cooperating right now so he doesn't end up in prison.

Sure.

Skenes vs Holman may be -300
Skenes vs the regular Tuesday starter -500

If I bet 100k then my payout would be 33k and not 20k. Add in the likelihood of Bama winning drops from 25% to 17%.

I just threw some #s out there, but you see my point.

On college baseball? The max bet for even a very well known gigantic loser on college baseball would be 5k, and that would be offered at maybe 2 or 3 books in the world.

But the guy who started was a guy who had started almost every weekend to date. He and Holman had put up pretty similar performances over the last past 3-4 weeks in the aggregate. Holman wasn't our clear #1, Friday night starter or anything.

SEC Stats
Holman - 5 starts, 4.74 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, .193 BAA
McMillan - 4 starts, 4.91 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, .180 BAA

And that includes the LSU game for McMillan. So going into Friday night the argument could be made that McMillan had a better chance for success than Holman did.

Just really weird.

Didn't he hold out your Friday starter at the last minute? Might that have something to do with it?

But he's not our "Friday starter" in terms of how everyone thinks of a Friday starter. We don't really have a true #1 guy and we've probably had 3-4 different guys start on Friday night this season (Holman, McMillan, Hitt, Hess, McNairy maybe?).

McMillan replaced Holman when Holman was a late scratch.

SEC Stats
Holman - 5 starts, 4.74 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, .193 BAA
McMillan - 4 starts, 4.91 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, .180 BAA

It just doesn't make much sense. All of our starters have pretty similar lines in SEC play - WHIPs between 1.10-1.40, ERAs between 4.50-5.00, BAA between .180-240. Nobody awful, nobody dominant. Some really nice outings and some big stinkers. Almost all of them young and inexperienced.

Frankly, our program is so consistently inconsistent that I'm not sure how you bet on it at all....even if you know who is playing.
