So reading what happened, two large bets were placed at Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati on LSU. Bama almost won the game so I dont think anyone was throwing it but someone with inside information placed the bets.

There’s zero reason to subsidize a bunch of kids to play glorified little league baseball. I hate the sound of a metal bat making contact with a baseball. Gross. The crack of the wood gives me warm, fuzzy feelings.

He's not wrong about the in-state lottery schools having more ability to sign guys - especially ones with strong in-state talent. You don't have to allocate scholarships to kids who get lottery money and can then use that scholarship money elsewhere.

I read this and thought “holy shite they have a lottery to pick players like the NBA draft” then realized what you meant

Good lord I’m dumb

With all due respect, and remember I'm saying with all due respect, that idea ain't worth a velvet painting of a whale and a dolphin getting it on

Dude is having a hell of a year and lit the Hogs up. I'd love for the Hogs to add him, but I think Jarvis will likely go pro with this breakout year. He's gotta take advantage even if he is a senior.

He's a very solid player and a lot of fun to watch. Been really cool to see him progressively get better over the years as a hitter.

Bama has some good players, if Pickney goes to the portal there will be several teams offering him

There is several guys in the lineup many top teams could use. Also that lefty freshman that threw against us I would absolutely take. We hit him, but he has electric stuff.

I havent seen that anywhere and the bet was placed, or tried to place?, in Cincinnati. So if true obviously asked someone else to do it.

What was the bet? I've not heard where exactly the fix was in yet.

From @thatupperhand on twitter

Someone(s) allegedly had intel before the book that Bama was going to sit starters, including their SP. Those same folks loaded up before the line could be changed and so they're looking into it.

Honestly, if that is all this is...........then it's pretty ridiculous. As has been noted over and over in discussion of this, the guy who started vs the planned starter is an almost immaterial difference.

It wasn't as if Skeenes was going to start and he was replaced with a bullpen arm with an ERA of 5.80. We scratched a young, talented and somewhat erratic SP for another young, talented and somewhat erratic SP.

Yea Alabama has a solid team. Bring in the right coach and they could hold on to the right guys. But I’d take a couple of their guys at LSU for sure.
