I didn’t think it went too far in that direction. They were sort of just “people that want to watch the world burn”, like when Joel (? Pablo guy) said the sound and sights of mortar fire on American soil got him rock hard. They would have done better with another established female in the younger...

The “what kinda American are you?” scene was intense. There was some beautiful layering of the wild fire and Sturgill song Breaker’s Roar. ...
