Alabama’s defense played great, except for a couple bust coverages. Alabama’s offense was running the ball well enough wearing that fat arse Ga Dline down then just stopped and relied mostly on the pass. Bama Oline played well, QB played well. I thought Bama’s OC played right into GA’s hands by shortening the time GA’s defense was on the field.

Bill Obrien was an excellent OC, and we would be lucky to have him back

You missed the 67 yard run? Big turning point. Watch football more, start fewer threads. Stick to your day job in other words.

What I saw was a big Ga Dline that was gassed, and Bama eased their running game which was confusing since their top receivers were out.

I expected the defense to have to play a big role in winning the game Monday. Metchie was out and it was too much to hope that Smart would pull a Miles and try the same thing again in the second game. Points were going to be at more of a premium. That said, the team did more than enough to win. Now UGA did enough to win the game too, obviously, and this is to take nothing away from them. But on the Bama side I think two main factors were the difference between victory and defeat, and they were both on the offensive side of the ball:

1. The loss of Metchie and then Williams forced us to rely on young, mostly unproven receivers, and they did not rise to meet the challenge. Multiple routes were run wrong, and multiple touchdown passes that should have been easy catches were dropped.

2. With Bama's two leading receivers out of the game, our offensive coaching staff for some reason elected to continue to lean on the passing game rather than try to pound them with the running game. The one drive in the third quarter where we did try to do this we were successful and you could see the Georgia defense starting to wear down, but then we went right back to passing again.

Number one was the true killer. If our young receivers play even just a little better we probably still win the game. Number two is less certain but could have been a potentially promising choice, but for whatever reason we didn't take it.

Is that avatar you have there showing that person being hanged without a rope?

I’m not gonna be upset he left but let’s take stock of Alabama’s offense this season. New OL, new OL coach, first year starter at QB, you lose 2/4 major contributors at RB position to injury and Sanders still isn’t right. Your RT is a center and played out of position all year because most of your entire OL went to the draft and are starting. Then you lose both of your 1000 YD receivers in consecutive games to non contact knee injuries and you were still a gnats hair from somehow winning a national championship. That’s a pretty damn good job if you ask me.

A lady was trying to clean a several hundred year old painting of Christ but somehow she messed up and ruined the painting. So she tried to fix it so no one would notice, and my avatar is her, uh, effort. Basically the equivalent of ruining the Mona Lisa and replacing it with a smiley face.

hmm, wonder why? Oh right, most of the starters were on the sidelines injured. Defense played great for playing 2 backup corners, until yet again a starter went out injured on the dline (Mathis) in the 4th and all the sudden Georgia could move it

One good drive which utilized rushing. UGA didn't give up 100 yards rushing in both playoff games combined.

Being a Texan fan, I and all Texan fans know Bill O’Brien’s tendencies. He has moments where for some inexplicable reason, his brain farts and his play calling is truly dumbfounded. I was beside myself when Saban hired him. I hope he goes. If you were to watch all O’Brien’s games with the Texan’s, it would not be surprising that he had so many stalled red zone visits this past Monday. Now, taking nothing away from Georgia, they played better than Bama and deserve the win, however, I If__k’in can’t explain why he is so terrible a play caller but it is so. Here’s too BOB.

Haven’t you heard? They had 2 receivers out and were forced to play us with 9 on offense.

. Ala's defense was somewhat handicapped just like Ala's offense, but they still balled

Wow. That's a huge NEWSFLASH

And it shows. Three potentially game-changing passes were dropped by back-up WRs.
