Quality wins are valued. What can I say, seeing is believing.
Perhaps what the committee saw in that Memphis game was also part of the "eye test."

I'm not sure you are familiar with Leach's M.O. if that seems unusual to you

Alabama fan.
I mean, if I were a fan of team without a championship in my lifetime….or my pappy’s….bama s definitely a good team to deekride.
Great results in the last 15 years. Good choice.

I'm sure this has been addressed in various posts but your take is meh. Here's why
Ohio State was beat AT HOME by a team lacking their best player who is currently a consensus first overall pick in the NFL draft. Ohio State did not lead ONCE throughout the entire game.
Oregon has the best win of any of the top 10 teams, however it is their only ranked win and their loss is to a 3-5 Stanford team which is a bad loss.
Because we have dominant wins over #16 and #17 with a close loss on the road to #14. In terms of Resume, we hold an advantage in 2 out of 3 of the variables against all other top 10 teams not named Georgia.
Yes...the vast majority of the committee does, which is all that really matters. Figured this was pretty clear.
Don't have to, and at this point nothing really though that question is pretty irrelevant.
Irrelevant but not bad recruiting tools for the upcoming class now that you mention it lol

It's about who the best teams are. Everyone knows the Texas A&M game was a fluke.
If you remember, we won a national championship one year after losing to Ole Miss at home.
Dropping a game happens sometimes.
If you watch every team play, the rankings should be:
1. Georgia
2. Alabama
3. Oregon (I think the Pac is severely underrated this season. In their two premier OOC matchups, Oregon beat OSU in Ohio, and UCLA beat LSU)
4. Ohio State
People may not want to hear this, but talent level matters. Even a team that isn't playing well, but has top 5 talent, can potentially show up and beat anyone on a given day - which is what happened with Alabama/Texas A&M. It's why Georgia narrowly beat Clemson.
The reason Alabama gets the benefit of the doubt isn't just because of recent history - though that is a big factor. It's because Alabama is arguably the most talented team in the country, with inarguably the best coach in the country. Alabama is the juggernaut of all juggernauts. There's a reason why everyone in the country celebrates when Alabama loses - because it rarely ever happens. A one-loss Alabama is a shoo-in for the playoffs every year.

Last I checked our 2020 qb is starting for the Patriots and our heisman winning wr is in Philly.
Because, like the Heisman Trophy, CFP rankings are really just an exercise in brand petting.

You ain't wrong. Now let's compare anyone's record for the last 10 years or so that deserves more honor for achievement on the field.

Discussing Alabama's position regarding the playoffs!
If you can walk and chew gum at the same time, you should realize that if Alabama wins the rest of their games including the SECCG, they're in the playoffs...if they don't, then they're not!
C'mon folks!...it's not rocket science.

This is at least the 3rd time the discrepancy has been noted and he still hasn't responded.
It's been obvious the whole time anyway.
