Let’s be honest. LSU could not afford to pay a coach that kind of money.

Orgeron made nearly $9M in 2020.

Let this sink in, A&M is going to pay Jimbo $165 million to never win the SEC, much less a national championship...

LSU has won 3 national titles with 3 different head coaches and played for another national title. Meanwhile Jimbo has yet to make it to Atlanta. Who’s doing better??

Nothing? Did we not finish top 5? Are we in the top 10? Do you have top tier recruiting? Everything is trending the right way. He’s a top 5 coach. Anyone who thinks otherwise is blind or lying.

youre about to extend an underachieving coach's already retarded contract.

Well, another poster here is saying EdO was clearing 9 mill, and he’s lost 2 of 3 games to Jimbo.

And then there’s the trajectories of the programs.

So,…

This is a terrible idea and will probably end badly just like the last 2 major extensions did.

Especially bad that there is no buyout clause on his end.

Fortunately we don't have to overpay a coach to get him to live in Tuscaloosa.

Sure. That’s the reason he’s paid that much.

Just money….we have plenty. Next round of capital improvements for the football program are soon to follow as well.

If fisher is winning multiple national titles then he's worth that contract. He's not my school so I don't care

But from an outside perspective A&M is going to ride jimbo in this new era of college football and they are going all in on him. Once the playoff expands (which it will) they will get a few shots. I think uga will do the same with Kirby soon.

We also haven't discussed the factor of saban eventually retiring or getting to old he won't be able to work anymore. I see this as a move to outlast saban

Could be a stretch.

This might be the most Aggie decision ever.

Not only has Jimbo not sniffed Atlanta, but, the Aggies are extending him based off of a Covid-distorted year ??.

90 M is nothing compared what we’re about to spend on facilities. We’ll match that it football alone. Then triple it with the rest of sports.
