After Alabama the West is a toss up to me. It will be a really, really tough division this year. 2-5 could finish in any order.

Whats crazy is Auburn being picked last and returns literally the same team that beat Arky,Ole Miss and LSU.

Also the same team that took Bama to 4OT.

Tennessee won't finish second in the East. Sooner fans are taking initiative with the off season threads.

Then who does?
Gators are rebuilding from the ground up
Kentucky is decent but head to head they lose to the Vols
UofSSC is not as good as Kentucky
Mizzou is not very good.
Vandy is a doormat

So do you think the UGA drop off is enough to push them to second?

Edit:

Florida is a complete unknown but will need time and talent to build back.

Kentucky is looking at at least 3 SEC loses and 4 wouldn’t shock anyone.

UofSC has 3-5 SEC loses that would not be upsets right now. Arky, UGA, UK, Vols, TAMU

Mizzou has an easier schedule but I don’t see them with less than 4 SEC losses

Vandy gets a free trip to Hawaii to start the season…

Vols should be favored in 9 or 10 games this year with a floor of 8-4 and ceiling of 10-2.

UGA- as of today they should be favored in all 12 games and are likely going to win the east.

And have continued to finish ahead of you, something you conveniently left out. One game does not a season make.

Kentucky and A&M are the two I have the hardest time estimating. Both could be 10-11 wins good, both could win 6-8 games.

State is too low on almost all of these. Don't they have a lot of returning starters including qb? They will upset at least one team and probably more than that.

So one of our worst teams in years beats you last year and we have not only got a much better HC but our team has greatly improved and you think that we are going to finish in 6th and lose to you…….

I’d love to hear your justification on this one. Oh and spare me on the recruiting championship.

I’m putting an emphasis on returning QB play

Do you keep up with QB projections coming out of the Manning camp? Because if you did you would know that Max Johnson could actually be a very good QB and the expectation for him has grown quite a bit over the summer.

Bamas QB came out of the same camp looking awesome too.

I know it’s just a camp but if you are truly putting A&M at 5 because of QB play. I honestly don’t think that will be an issue this year.

We have a QB with SEC experience.

The same thought process that makes OU think they can be competitive in the SEC is responsible for having Tenn. 2nd in the East.

We went 8-4 with a terrible QB last year. I don't see it being any worse, though I still am not sold on any of our QB's aside from Weigman. And he won't start this year.

So probably 9-3 or 8-4 should be good for third in the West. Another year of underachievement for Fisher.

The biggest thing is that you guys were just two scores away from 10-2... and two scores away from 6-6. That's a lot of narrow wins and losses that could have gone either way. The two close wins (Colorado and Alabama) had Colorado and A&M neck and neck stats wise; and as for the Bama game, A&M's special teams play was amazing (blocked punt for TD, then kickoff return for a TD) but that's not nearly as sustainable as solid defense and offensive game play.

A&M's defense was the strong part of the team last year (it gets lost because UGA's defense was so good, but A&M's defense was #2 in a number of categories). I think a lot of folks are waiting to see if the offense improves enough; otherwise you might need to lean on the defense way too much next year.

We played with a QB that had two fairly significant injuries (wrist and ankle) for three games simply because we didn’t have any other choice.

Plus our original starter went out with a season end injury. These things happen.

The question isn’t if the offense can be good, they question is if they can stay healthy.

If our team is healthy (like when we played Bama) we can beat most teams.

I know there’s a lot of Aggie haters on this board. But a healthy A&M squad should be hard to beat.
