3 point shooting (Lack thereof)

Posted by TexasTiger88 on 3/4/25 at 6:49 pm
How in the world do we not have a single fricking player that can hit a 3?

It’s actually embarrassing. Every 3 chunked up is an airball and not even close…..

Make it make sense.

Their offense is inept. Only scored 53 tonight and Johni Broome was back.

UT is ranked #3 in the country in opponents ppg.....

Meanwhile Auburn's offense is ranked #17 in the country in ppg.

They had an off night against a top 6 team in the country who also happens to have the 3rd best defense in terms of ppg.

I wouldn't call that inept
I always thought they were both slot positions maybe a little different in their responsibilities.

Anyone have any insight?

How much research have you done on the players that other schools have been picking up? It's a legitimate question, I think we have done great, but why do you think that there is no way that 6 other teams

Michigan has 8 to our 14 with 21 leaving to our 17. On top of that we have 7 top 100 players to there 1….

Maybe I’m dumb but their class isn’t even in the same stratosphere.

Pic kinda looks like Louisiana though

Looks like U Club honestly lol.
Center/Guard
Safety
D Line

Imo those are the 3 most important in no particular order!

I've mentioned that it would be great if one of the 3 or 4 high-level QBs we are in on in the 2027 class would re-qualify to 2026.

No kidding I was looking at 26 and maybe I missed it but it doesn’t look like we are in in any of the top QBs for 26.

Would be nice to not go 2 years in a row without a top QBs recruit.

Hopefully Frank can close on Stewart! Such a big position of need right in our backyard!

I know Oregon has seemed like the front runner here recently but on3 still has LSU as the leader fwiw.

Let’s finish strong and carry some momentum into 25!

2027 You’re freaking out man

I’m sorry, thought this was the recruiting board. Sorry for bringing up recruiting.

What does it matter that it’s 27? Just trying to have friendly discussion.

Obviously the 27 class is far out from now but this kids looks like the real deal.

Doesn’t hurt that he plays in our backyard.

What are yalls thoughts on him both as prospect and us ultimately landing him?

Seems like Louisiana will have 3 straight years of solid prospects and it seems like it will continue with the 26 and 27 classes.

We brought in a QB that won the heisman. Our top 4 WRs are all transfers. Our top DL is a transfer and is currently top 5 in the SEC in sacks. Our starting OG was a transfer until he got hurt. We had 2 transfer DT's drafted this past year. Our top RB last year was a transfer. In year 1 our top DBs were transfers - and they worked out. We went out and got a 5* CB transfer last year and turns out he's a headcase

The first 2 years of the portal, he did great. It’s ok to admit that he failed miserably this past year other than a few WRs. None of the guys you mentioned that were difference makers were apart of last years transfer class.
I know Brian Kelly preaches wanting to build through the high school ranks. I understand what he’s trying to get at from a long term standpoint.

Problem is, HS players are young inexperienced and a lot of times not physically ready for the rigors of the SEC.

If you don’t supplement solid recruiting classes with solid transfer classes, we will be stuck in the same predicament.

You think Ole Miss regrets bringing in a Walter Nolen and Umanmielen, you think Oregon regrets bringing in a Dillon Gabriel and Harmon and Stewart, how about Miami with Cam Ward, OSU with Judkins and Downs, Bama with Proctor and Brailsford, Aggies with Scourton, Texas with Bond and Makuba.

I could go on and on and on. If LSU doesn’t start bringing in these types of players as well we are going to keep being middle of the pack.

As good as this upcoming class is, we need multiple starting caliber players at a plethora of positions, IOL, S, LB, DT, DE, TE, that frankly our class isn’t going to shore up.

We have a big opportunity to finish the year strong and carry momentum going into 2025, but if we get left at the altar again in the transfer portal and bring in another extremely underwhelming transfer class, it’s gonna be very hard to compete next year.

eah, Major Burns too, this secondary has to be one of the weakest LSU secondaries I've seen EVER

FIFY

Idk if our safeties would start for Miss State or Purdue. People crapping on Baker and the defensive staff are turning a blind eye to the fact that this may be one of the least talented lsu defenses from a personnel standpoint of all time.

I heard that. In a weird way, NIL has helped it have more parity.

I still think it needs some type of regulation but the haves and haves not have gotten closer together.

History and tradition have been thrown out the window to an extent.

It’s all about the money now and more people can fish in that pond than before.

As my good friend and brother said, “college football is on bath salts this year.”

Idk what has gotten into the air this year but honestly this has been as fun a year as I can remember in terms of parity and being a fan of football.

In a way it seems like the nfl, any given Saturday. You have teams beating on others teams one week and then losing to unranked teams the next. I’m here for the chaos.

Obviously I’m lsu all the time but what a fun year. At this point, we could beat everyone on our schedule and also lose to everyone on our schedule.

Buckle up boys, we in for a wild ride!

Geaux Tigers!

I guess this is better than having a DB named Burns

The sad thing is oh how appropriate that has been for him lol.

Aggies fans were thrilled when he left and I see why now.

let’s say, a very poor run fit by Whit Weeks on that long TD run? Probably a combination of both.

I’m actually gonna blame the DE for crashing inside. Absolutely no reason for that. Weeks already had that gap.

Weeks didn’t have his best game, that’s for sure, but that was all on the DE.

Ryan, Burns and Gilbert

There is absolutely no way in hell the coaches can claim these 3 give us the best chance to win.

Don’t give a damn that they are older and have more experience. They are flat out bad and we know what we are gonna get from them.

Give the younger guys a chance to grow and gain valuable experience. Let me see more of Spears, Woodland, Jackson, Taviano get more opportunities.

CB Toviano or whoever CB2 is

I feel like Pickett is eventually a safety at 6'4.

Also, if they stuff that recently came out about Toviano are true, he may not be on the team much longer.

Just saying!
