OT: Ole Miss fans thoughts about Dan Mullen?

With UNLV losing yesterday, a few weeks after Mullen made some remarks about UF football after he left, Dan has been a trending topic among Gator fans the past 24 hours
Since someone fricked up and gave me access to this board, I figured to ask what OM fans think about Dan having lived through the historic Freeze-Mullen Egg Bowl era.

About the same as Jackie Sherrill a Ole Miss hater more than anything. Not like Croom, Leech or Lebby.

With the benefit of hindsight and maturity, I don’t hate him as much as I did back when I was younger.
When took over State their program was on life support and the one thing he could latch on to to drive passionate fans to action was shite talking “the school up north”. We had just beaten the shite out of them, beaten 11-1 Texas Tech and everyone was talking about us being a national title contender with a Heisman level QB that could be a top 5 pick.
His schtick worked because it got under our fanbase’s skin and their fanbase ate it up. It all got shot into the stratosphere when they beat us in 2009 and he said on the Jumbotron after the game “there’s only one program in this state that’s on the rise and it’s here in Starkville.” Then there was also the video of him in the locker room saying they were never going to lose to us again.
He did what he had to do but it made the rivalry toxic as frick especially after Freeze was hired and we started beating them.
He’s a really good coach and I don’t think he truly hates or dislikes Ole Miss in any way like Sherrill did. Leach and Kiffin did an incredible job coming in and making things not toxic. I don’t know if they just didn’t care or if the administrators at both schools told them “hey it’s a rivalry but shite needs to cool down a little”.

Struck me as terribly immature and not HC material. He basically had a meltdown when we beat them the year they had that playoff shot. He was choking on his words during the post game press conference and claimed they were better than Alabama because they “beat Alabama in the 2nd half, next question.” It was rather bizarre. He threw his players under the bus to where if I was one of those players I’d have been like “frick this guy..”

frick him. I don’t hate him at the same level I do the bastard in red stick, but I do not like him at all. Also think he’s extremely overrated as a head coach.
