Because too large of a segment of our fanbase would rather believe in conspiracy theories and that people are always out to get us rather than just acknowledge that another school valued a player more than we did.

Ok, glad to see most people are being rational about this. Saw some comments on Twitter blaming Shay and thought it was stupid so I'm glad to see that it's just some random stupid people.
Will still never get over that midget and his influence over the refs and the sec depriving Shay of a catch that set us up to beat bama.

Should be for 4* WR Alvin Mosley who is committing this evening. Top 4 of us, Texas, Houston, and Arkansas. He's from the Houston area and is a top 200 player nationally.

Back to the Moss deal. If enough of these guys come our way we can obviously compete for it all and they can get to the NFL which we all know is their goal. This is all quite obvious. We are dangerously close, and I get the naysayers and the comp don’t like. But that’s ok.

I wouldn't be shocked if Moss ends up flipping before signing day. We'll see if we can get him on campus for a game or two this fall.
But even without him we have, moving forward on the o-line, Emmanuel Faulkner at OT who the staff love and expect him to be a starter in 2027 (not as a true freshman this fall, but as a RSF / Sophomore). Antonio Berry at OT this class. Antonio Keefer at OG this class. Both are heavily recruited 4* guys.
3* Ford Wade is in this class to as a center. He's from Oxford and always wanted to play here so he hasn't done a ton of camps / visits - but even with no real effort to be seen he still picked up committable offers from Nebraska and NC State.
With or without Moss we are just fine moving forward on the OL.

If tweet fails to load, click here. For those who care, this brings us up to #14 in the nation (based on composite rankings) and is our 13th blue chip commit.

One of my biggest concerns with Golding and the turnover on the offensive staff is how we would recruit on that side of the ball.
We know have:
4* QB (who is top 10 QB in the country, and ranked as high as the #4 QB prospect)
2 4* WRs
2 4* OL
And that's with a class where we are not going to take a TE and we probably won't take a RB.
I've been impressed with how he's approached roster building in his first class.

What Kiffin and his staff did obviously worked and elevated our program to heights it hasn’t seen in 60 years. But gosh damn it feels good being at least decent at high school recruiting again

Unrelated to recruiting but not making a new topic for this:
Auburn edge rusher Da'Shawn Womack arrested on reckless endangerment charge.
I assume he will be fine come fall, but interesting given we play them and he's a former player

Agreed..feels like as good of a balanced, high level talent class as we’ve ever had..if they all sign

The fact that we are competing with Ohio state for recruits (biggest NIL outside the SEC) speaks volumes about where our program is at.

As exciting as it may seem, I remain skeptical hippo until they sign on the dotted line. But as someone mentioned earlier in the thread, I would like to also believe that NIL money, locks them into that commitment. So, if that's accurate then turnover is a great deal less likely anyway.
The whole, "it's only June," talk is just that, a whole lot of noise if the NIL money gets the recruit locked in. Someone correct me if I'm wrong about this.

Personally I think your pessimism is misguided. The problem is getting excited about kids who are almost surely not going to wait their turn to play. I wish you could stack rosters like the good old days.

Why are people blaming Shay Hodge?
I know people were defending him on here, but he's been showing his arse on twitter this weekend. Not a good look for him.

He was the WR coach at JA and they won a state title and then he just randomly quit. Seemingly to be an “elite personal athletic trainer” or something. What’s he been saying?
Posted on 6/28/26 at 7:16 pm to Henry Jones Jr
He posted a video/gif of the Joker right after the JA kid committed to Ohio State. Then he's been arguing with Ole Miss fans all weekend long saying he had nothing to do with anything. I'm sorry but Shay isn't innocent here.

At the end of the day, it’s an offensive line recruit from JA. The kid may end up being decent but I’m not losing sleep over losing an MAIS lineman.

His job is to get his kids moved up, regardless of where they end up. Young OM fans getting butthurt because he is excited he got a kid into Ohio State is just ignorance.

Antwan Jackson, a 4* DE from Tennessee is announcing his decision later this week. Had been an Alabama v. Mizzou battle for a while, but seems we have taken the lead with some national guys now predicting us to land him.
He's 6'6 240 as well so another athletic lengthy Edge rusher which seems to be the mold Pete is going for.
Bit of a freak of an athlete too, also plays TE. Runs a 4.6

Dae'Quan Wright was such a weapon for us last year and made some huge plays. Hoping Odom or Hasz can step up.
