Still have no idea how Pete will do as a coach long term, and you have to recruit your own roster every offseason, but this recruiting sets us up really well for the next 3-4 yrs

I have family that went to DSU with Pete and they’re all State fans. My uncle told my dad “I’m telling you it ain’t good for us they’re hiring him. That boy can recruit and we won’t touch anyone he wants with the staff we have right now”

I even kind of scoffed at that but damn if they weren’t right

He's clearly impressed me with his recruiting skills this far - both with this HS class but also keeping the roster together from last year.

I'm confident that he will give us a good defense too - he showed us that he can coach an elite defense in 2024 when given more than 30% of the roster budget. Hopefully we'll now be more evenly spread out and we are consistently a top 20ish defense.

Biggest concern is still just (1) can he handle all the new HC responsibilities he has - this trips up more first time HCs than anything else; and (2) can he bring enough offensive coaching talent to keep us competitive on that side of the ball post Lane and Charlie.

Same. I like the OC hire from ECU because he is familiar with our offense we’ve been running the last 6 years but I’ll admit, I’m nervous that Louisville will shut us down in Nashville. Brohm cannot be overlooked

Brohm scares the shite out of me. At least his offense is typically complicated and he's breaking in a brand new QB. Wouldn't be shocked with a low scoring game.

I do like that we hired an OC who is familiar with our offense though. And believe it or not, ECU was one of the 10 or so teams who are faster on offense than we were last year.

Also really like how the OC has been working under a defensive head coach at ECU so it's 100% all been on him to run the offense and figure it out.
