Fresno, CA or Edison, NJ.
They were both bad for different reasons

I didn't care for Atlanta the first time I visited it, having every other street named Peach something is really annoying when you from out of town. It was better the second time around when I knew how to navigate.
I loathed LA. San Francisco looked nice but smelled like a poorly kept outdoor toilet. I could keep going on but I think I can just say that everywhere I went in California that had more then ten people sucked.
Memphis has some of the worst places I've ever visited but they are next door to some of the nicest places I've ever visited. Can't say I hate it really.
I could see where DC would be hated by many folks but I loved living there. As long as you don't try to drive anywhere near the city (don't do it, you will hate yourself) and use the Metra its just a matter of figuring out which neighborhoods to avoid like the plague.
So Los Angeles would ooze into the lead of places I hated the most with every other place in California a very close second.

Baltimore - Only went there as a kid but the experience was awful and all I can remember is the massive amount of homeless beggars.
I haven't been to many major cities but Baltimore still struck me as the worst. Been to NYC, D.C., Philly, Columbus, Cleveland and have worked in Pittsburgh for the past 2 years.

How is Pittsburgh? I hear that the city has really turned things around and is pretty nice place to live now a days.

I fricking hated LA and San Francisco, both are gigantic overcrowded shitholes with an abundance of assholes and fruitcakes. The only redeeming quality of LA is the women, holy shite, OT9s everywhere.
San Diego on the other hand is fricking awesome, if I had the money to buy a loft in Coronado, I'd be spending the rest of my life there. Unfortunately, the ones overlooking the bay were running between $5-6 Million for about 1800sqft.

I've enjoyed visiting DC, as long as the trip wasn't longer than a few days. And frick the Rosslyn Metro escalator, frick IT.

Inner Harbor brah, don't even bother with anything else in Baltimore.

It's still a pain to get around but I'm mostly in the southern part or eastern part. I've never really felt unsafe or anything. Been to a few pirates, steelers, and pens games. The wife likes to go to shows at the Benedum and we've always had a good time besides traffic.

Flint, Michigan. Single most depressing place I have ever been.

Is that the one that stretches forever? I recall hating one of the escalators in DC with a passion. I suffer from vertigo and I know one of them made me sick as a dog every time I went on it.

I have heard that San Diego is California for people who hate California. I would love to visit there some time.

South Bend, Indiana
The campus is nice, but the city is like a scene out of 8 Mile.

Several choices. Mexicali Mexico, Chennai India, Mumbai India, Sao Paulo Brazil. All shitholes in the truest sense of the word.

Crowley or Bogalusa, Louisiana

Yes, escalator to Hell. 207 ft, straight fricking down, I think there are longer escalators, but none are as steep. And the poor lighting makes it even more terrifying. This image doesn't really capture how ridiculous this thing is.
