As a student from 2010-2014, I can say without a doubt that 2013 was so much more fun and memorable than 2010. Great take.

I know it doesn't make sense, but 2010 was stressful. A lot of close games, and then the Cam bullshite. 2013 I had no expectations at all...lol, we were starting a former DB at quarterback, had a new coach that we had no clue how he would do, ect.

What Bowl games are meaningless

Honestly, pretty much all of them. Yes, coaches love the extra practice and it does help younger players that will be expected to step up the next year get extra reps. And yes, the schools and conferences get money for the appearance, but for a player that is expected to be drafted in the spring, unless you are in the CFP, the games themselves really mean nothing in the grand scheme of things.

Are you somehow under the impression that scouts do not attend or watch the regular bowl games?

Scouts do attend regular bowl games, but what are the chances that the head coaches of just about every NFL team will be in attendance at the game and the practices? They do attend Sr. Bowl practice.

Are you under the impression that playing in a bowl game somehow eliminates you from consideration for the NFL?

Obviously not, but a player gets a hell of lot more attention from NFL teams at the Senior bowl than they would at the Duke's Mayo Bowl. Why risk injuring yourself in a meaningless game when you have an opportunity to make it to the NFL?
