Valdosta, Georgia.

Grew up there and couldn't wait to leave. Not close to anything but the ground. That being said, no difference with many southern small towns.

I remember that escalator from when I was a kid. Thought it was the most fun thing in the world back then

Whatever happened to Cordelle? Used to be a nice little town late 70s early 80s.

Cordele is really bad. Makes Americus look like paradise.

Still light years ahead of Trenton, NJ, though.

Yes, escalator to Hell. 207 ft, straight fricking down, I think there are longer escalators, but none are as steep. And the poor lighting makes it even more terrifying. This image doesn't really capture how ridiculous this thing is.

I remember playing fallout 4 and being pissed that the Rosslyn descent wasn't as long as the real one.

No idea, but it was the nastiest hotel I've ever stayed in. Roaches in the shower (not the fun kind of roaches), although I did have 3 different dudes try to get me to buy bootleg DVDs and drugs, and a fat bitch offer a blowjob for $50. I DECLINED, GODDAMNIT

It's probably been at least 15 years since I stayed there, but I remember waking up at 3 AM just to hurry to get the frick out of there.

I've stayed in some backwoods places in my times on the road, Hazard Ky, Breathitt County Ky, Magoffin, Harlan (coal country), Galax, VA, plus all the Cumberland Gap counties in VA, Gadsden and Ft. Payne AL, all of Tennessee, some bumfrick areas of NC that I can't recall the names of, but Cordelle stands out as just about the only place I will NEVER return, not even to take a piss.

Last time I had to use that escalator, it was right after a blizzard, was going to Monday night Football to see my Giants beat the breaks off the Skins, the icy conditions made the ride down even more terrifying.

There is an elevator, but of course, it was out of order that week.

It’s bad but it isn’t Albany Ga bad. We make the news regularly as being the top 10 worst cities to live in regardless of size based on crime rate.

How is Pittsburgh? I hear that the city has really turned things around and is pretty nice place to live now a days.

This applied to Cleveland as well. They used to be two shitholes but there is now a lot of fun to be had in both cities.
