They withdrew the application because they can do the expansion at the current site faster than building a new site. Makes sense considering they will get a quicker return on their investment.
This. As part of the FERC Certificate process you must undergo a pretty robust alternatives analysis and in that you have to asses whether expansion at an existing facility could meet the purpose and need for the proposed facility. With Delta being located so close to Plaquemines its unlikely the alternative analysis conclusion could have justified a completely new facility.
re: Best places to visit down South?

I want to see the historical places of Southern culture—Civil War battlegrounds, museums, traditional music, and maybe a beach.
I plan on visiting New Orleans.
Then start in NO and drive east along the coast. There are some great antebellum sites in Mobile and an old french fort downtown. Take the ferry from Dauphin Island to Fort Morgan, there you'll see Fort Gaines and Fort Morgan (Battle of Mobile Bay) then head on over to Pensacola (a great little historic downtown) and tour the 3 forts that guarded Pensacola Bay. One is in ruins and only accessible by boat (unless you want to walk a 10 mile round trip through the dunes on Perdido Key). About 2 hours east of Pcola you'll start to get into areas with lots of natural clear blue water springs to visit and take a plunge.

I'll hide a nice bag of cashews from our boys Those lil mf-ers can eat oily peanuts like i did when i was a poor kid. They are not old enough to appreciate the difference.

Its so bad I'm going to be the first to downvote my own reply to you.

I'm sure you have driven north out of Philly in to NJ. Some places where there were chemical plants look like the moon. 60-65 years later there are still parts of New Jersey where no vegetation will grow, and thats after those areas were "remediated".
NG flowing is good for everyone.
No doubt and Im rooting for it. There are some hellish industrial locations where a new LNG facility would be considered an aesthetic upgrade.
re: Buying a boat, what are some must haves?

Not an acc but a must have - Black streak remover/marine polish. Them scuffs dont wash off fiberglass.

Good luck to them. The local public appetite for these types of facilities along the east coast is less than positive. I've been part of a few proposed LNG projects in the BoWash region and they all died on the vine because they couldn't get local lawmakers onboard.
re: New boat owner question - Hurricane season
Posted by PCRammer on 6/2/25 at 10:32 am
Bad advice. 5 years ago a storm named Sally was wihtin 24 hours of making landfall in Gulf Shores/Pcola as barely a Cat 1. Lots of seasoned boat owners did just that and left their boats in lifted to the maximum. Storm stalls and then becomes a strong 2, too late for anyone to get their boat out. Lots of boats were on their side after the storm passed. But because it was only a Cat 1 (as the forecast said) lots of people lost them.
re: How is selling water legal?
Posted by PCRammer on 5/29/25 at 3:46 pm
Its not like someone is taking cash from your pocket while you stick your face in the reservoir. They bottled it and brought it to you, that is what is being sold.
re: Dog food for new puppy?

We use Fresh Pet from the refrigerated section of Publix mixed with a little wet Blue Buffalo for our Shih Tzu. As a pup we just gave him kibble and some wet food. Although it was quality kibble (if there is such a thing), ever since we switched him and his mutt sister over to Fresh Pet they've leaned up and their allergies are almost non-existent.

Does it cross through any reservations?
It does not as I recall. It was a no-go because NY put a moratorium on issuing Section 401 water quality certifications for pipeline projects....or something like that.
I think every company in O&G permitting and engineering touched this project at some point but no one could get it through.

I remember watching in my apartment at 12th St and 8th Ave in Tuscaloosa. All college housing around me. When the kick went through I ran into the street in such glee and there were hundreds pouring out into the streets from all directions.

It should have said beer and seltzers. You didn't identify a beer brand so why specify a seltzer brand.

I only watch the NBA during the playoffs. As a person who doesn't "have a team" I enjoyed watching their run last year and now have become who I'm rooting for.

re: Are the NY Adirondacks worth a visit?
Posted by PCRammer on 5/20/25 at 3:34 pm
Yes. Natural clear lakes, cool summer nights. It is truly a gem us southerners don't know about. I fortunately was able to do many trips up there early in my career for work, helping host O&G client events at one of the Great Camps.
As mentioned Burlington is a good base spot but at least rent a place for a couple nights on a lake around Saranac, Blue Mountain, Lake Placid, Old Forge. See if you can arrange a remote lake fishing trip via float plane.
Our place was at Blue Mountain Lake. Not much to do as far as bars and restaurants but instead spend the evenings sitting on the dock and sipping on your favorite spirits.
